How to unlock the For Whom the Bell Tolls achievement in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Definitive Guide

This achievement is for 5000+ Damage with Platinum the Trinity.

Use these settings;
Beginner Mode
Unlimited (you dont need to complete Score Attack with her, its already unlocked)
Versus or Player Match

Now get the Distortion Drive up to 50%, press Y until you get the "Missiles" Rod, (making sure to keep a safe distance away from Player 2), once got it, hold X when close to player 2, at the end of it, these bombs will fall from sky, this is when you mash Y, when 2 missiles connect that should have it at 5000+ along with the bombs falling down, if not, just keep mashing Y until it's 5000+ make sure to do this whilst bombs are falling as the combo will go blue and therefore won't count towards the achievement, make sure it's red, if it turns blue for whatever reason, just try again.

This achievement is called "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and it requires you to deal of 5000 damage in a single combo using Platinum the Trinity. I found a very easy way to do this is to select the unlimited version of Platinum, build up 50 heat, and then use her distortion drive called "Cure Dot Typhoon". The unlimited version of this move does over 5000 damage by itself. So just do this and enjoy your new achievement.

Just as a note, try it a few times if you don't seem to get it - it took me a few tries. Go against Iron Tager, see if you can get him in the corner, then use it. Worked for me.

When playing against a CPU, if you taunt it will provide you with a full meter.

Unlike the previous DLC characters you cannot get this trophy easily by performing her astral finish, you must do an actual combo. One of the easiest combos to do requires 50% and for the next weapon in Platinums weapons to be the missile. Here's how you want to setup the fight.

  • Timer: Infinite (99 if you are boosting online)
  • Round to win: 5 (Give yourself all the time you need)

Make sure the opposing opponent is Iron Tager, if you are playing against a CPU opponent make sure the difficulty in the options is set to "Beginner" just so he doesn't give you any unnecessary trouble. At character select turn on Unlimited mode with and then select Platinum the Trinity. At the start of the battle if you are facing a CPU opponent you can press to taunt them for 100% heat, if you have another controller on take it and tap on it multiple times and Instant Block them with Platinum to build meter. At this point you can use either of her two distortions:

  1. Cure Dot Typhoon: 632146C / +
  2. Miracle Jeanne: 236236D / +

After performing either Distortion there will be a short pause and then the sky will rain neko neko bombs and deal well over 5k for your trophy.
