How to unlock the Genghis Khan achievement in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Definitive Guide

I'm going to get a bit more in depth than the prior session, as that didn't really help me in the slightest personally. Just a disclaimer before I get started, this isn't a fool proof method by any means however it will help greatly. Well then, let's get started.

Legion mode, one of the new game modes which had been added since Calamity Trigger. This game type has a board in which various battles are set up and you can select which one you face adjacent to the starting point and then the areas you have conquered. Upon each victory you will be given the option of recruiting one of the characters you have defeated in the area you have cleared.

You are healed depending on your number of characters in your group, so it is suggested you keep the number lower for this run. There are also sections of the map which say "Health potion" or "Level down" which will be very helpful in the long run. These sections are labeled by triangles rather than the diamonds. On the hardest map, I personally preferred going with fewer officers in the beginning and only recruiting Jin as well as Noel as those were the two characters I enjoyed. Unlimited characters are also a bonus.

Now that the gametype has been summed up for the most part, let's get to the easy strategy. When you boot up the mode you are allowed to pick a character, personally I used Jin because he was the character that felt most comfortable but this varies from person to person. Regardless you're going to want to push to the right of the map from the start, clearing the battle with Jin and Rachel followed by Ragna and Lambda.

After those two fights comes the important one, Arakune and Tao. Tao is going to be your secret weapon for this whole playthrough, so be sure to recruit her after winning this fight. Once Tao is in your possession have her as your first fighter. This doesn't work for her standard version however the one you have recruited will be unlimited, which gives her the ability to jump and press downward and dash...or in this case A. She will glow red and dash across the screen doing one of the most overpowered moves in the game by far.

Use this to push upward now ignoring the fights in the area you were in before, and make your way through the map. Personally I would stick to the right as much as possible without getting the health potion however the level down I made sure to get as soon as I could. There are multiple of these one the way as you attempt to make your way to the gold crown, the hardest stage on this map.

Faster characters will give you the most trouble however if you make sure to save and work on the Tao strategy this will quickly become rather easy even if you aren't the most gifted of fighters. Whenever Tao gets below a third or even a quarter of her health I would suggest saving and attempting the Health potion stages, especially if you have another fighter who is injured as it randomly heals two characters who have been damaged.

Patience helps with this, and a few stages may take multiple tries before you are satisfied with the result but using this strategy it shouldn't be all that difficult. Wouldn't recommend using beginner mode as I'm not sure if Tao still uses the move with the same input this way. If there's anything you feel this guide should include, feel free to mention it in the comments and good luck.

Unlimited Tao is surely an excellent tool, be forewarned though - this mode is still astoundingly cheap and frustrating.

Complete the Legion Mode on Hard, winning ALL battles on the map. The Letter rank next to a character says how tough of a battle it will be. Look for items that will reduce enemy ranks, but also remember that as you clear the map, the enemy's will level up also.

Remember, if a character dies in this mode, you will lose that character. I would recommend to save every fight in Hard mode, and even retry a few fights if you lose multiple characters.

Recommend at least clearing Normal or Easy mode before trying Hard mode as it can get difficult on the last few battles with 5-6 guys at S or SS Rank.

Just to add to what Mitty ZX said:
Also Unlimited Jin is incredibly useful if you spam his Musou Senshouzan (The Ice surf table) with the C button. Uber damage, speed and really useful to escape when in trouble. Also it covers great part of the screen.

Just to add to this. Someone posted this solution before all the guides were wiped.

There's an unlimited Taokaka to the right of where you start. You should get her as soon as possible as her drive does ludicrous amounts of damage and will make the whole thing a lot easier.

Legion mode is a new mode in Continuum Shift that has a bit of a command and conquer feeling to it. You choose a character and in every panel you win you get to recruit one of the characters that you fought. Any damage in battle is carried over to the next fight so you can imagine the difficulty in this. The difficulty trophies do NOT stack; you must beat each individual difficulty one at a time.

Tips:

  • Save before every battle; if you lose or feel as if you could have done better to save yourself more health then you can reload your save to try again

  • Pick a character you know how to play at the start, and whenever you're picking characters to recruit to your team choose a character you know how to play or the unlimited character (if there is one)

  • Beginner mode might be recommended for casual players so you can use unlimited characters and other characters you get to their fullest

  • When you get to the later stages don't hesitate to sacrifice characters you know you can't play just to take away a bit of health from the opponent

  • When playing Legion mode on hard, Unlimited Taokaka is a great recruit to have, her simple charge attack deals well over 1/3 of the strongest opponents health

  • Always Taunt with for 100% Heat VS CPU bonus at the beginning of each battle

You can always click on start and save the game. I advise you to do this after every successful move. Opponents are sometimes evil and can take out many by chance.
