How to unlock the Hold On Loosely achievement in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Definitive Guide

Throw reject misses are when you deny the opponent a grab by attack them, then counter with a grab of your own. You'll know you've done this correctly when your light punch makes the announcer say "Counter!" and then during the grab there will be two pink exclamation points to signal you've done this correctly.

This can be done with two controllers in local versus mode. What I did was I set up a match with two characters, Ragna and Lambda 11. I changed my controls on my main controller so that the left trigger had been the grab (B+C). Then I changed the right trigger on my other controller to the same thing. This way, as soon as you tap the trigger on your secondary you can press X to get the counter and follow it up with a pull of the trigger to get the grapple. The timing takes some getting used to, but this can be a relatively quick achievement to get.

Here is a VERY EASY WAY

versus (no beginner mode) make B+C RT for BOTH CONTROLLERS

player 1 (you) is going to use X (or the weak attack aka A in the blaz blue universe)

player 2 RT (throw) nothing should happen because player 2 is stunned from the punch/kick

player 1 RT (throw) player 1 should be throwing player 2

you should see throw reject miss on the right side (player 2's side) along with 2 pink explanation points

that's all you need to do... DETAILS... details really make a difference

TIP plyaer 2 should be iron tager and player 1 carl

Throw Reject Misses are when you make the opponent try to break a throw at the wrong time, thus making it so they can't avoid it. The easiest method to do this is using two controllers and setting "Grab" (B+C) to left trigger on your main, right trigger on your secondary. The characters I had used were Ragna and Lambda however I don't think this will make a difference.

The order you'll want to do things is Square with your main, then quickly press R2 on your secondary (grab) and press L2 on your main in order to do the actual grab. The timing is a bit tricky, however you'll get in to the motion of it after successfully pulling it off once or twice. You'll know you've done this when it says "Throw Reject Miss" under the combo counter and damage dealt.

A Throw Reject Miss is caused when an opponent inputs BC/ too early while getting hit and then gets grabbed himself so he can no longer escape the grab. Use Ragna against whomever, attack with 2A/ and at the same time you hit your opponent have your opponent input the grab command BC/, then follow up from your attack with your own grab command, resulting in a Throw Reject Miss.

It is necessary to make a counter grab 30 times in total. The trophy is cumulative.
Must be done with a friend. You probably won't be able to do it alone unless you have 4 hands.

The easiest way is to make Ragna.
The enemy should try to grab you in a triangle + circle.
At this point you should do a Counter by pressing Down+Square and immediately afterwards press your grip onto Triangle+Circle.

If you got everything right, you will see the inscription Throw Reject Miss.
