How to unlock the Set a Time Road Rule on any road achievement in Burnout Paradise - Definitive Guide

Road Rules are unlocked after winning one race event

To enter into the Road Rule mode you need to press cn_up on Dpad, the road sign at the top should change from a green background to a Red one.

The shortest road in the game is Watt St, the time you are aiming to beat is the OFFLINE time which is 5.8 seconds.

You dont need a fast car but you DO need a full bar of boost and a nice run up.

Watt Street is located south of the beginning Junkyard.
You can press the cn_select button to bring up the map and change the Display to Road Rules to see the names of roads.

You have to earn your Class D license for the Time and Showtime Road Rules to become available. Once they open up, every road in Paradise City has a Time and Showtime Road Rule associated with it. The Time Road Rules will begin as soon as you drive on to either the beginning or the end of a road. Some quick tips are to drive a fast car, drift on to the road, use your boost, and drive in oncoming traffic to keep your boost meter up. Obviously, avoiding all other cars is a good idea too. Each road has a different time that you have to beat.

A fairly simple trophy, each road in “Paradise city” has a travel time set in advance by the developers - you need to beat it. To do this, first click and go to the “time road rule offline” section. This will let you know what time you need to beat. After that, go to the beginning of the road. Now just cover the road in the shortest possible time. Here are some tips on how to do this:
  • Use the fastest car you have.
  • Try to drive onto the road from a skid. It's much faster than accelerating on it.
  • Don't cut into traffic.
  • Keep to the oncoming lane.

breaking a record on the road with normal acceleration is not so easy, a magic button will help - acceleration (at the bottom left of the screen the greenish scale shows its “charge”, which accumulates simply when driving on the road)
