Call of Duty: Black Ops

this means that you have to select multiplayer>xbox live>wager matches, then the type you want to play:
-one in the chamber (one bullet,knive when you make a kill you earn another bullet)
-sticks and stones
-sharpshooter
-gun game
if you dont want to earn/lose much cp just select the first bid option ( it's called ANTE UP and costs 10 cp) once youre in a game make sure you finish on the first ( 300% bid return), second ( 180% bid return) or third place ( 120% bid return) all the other players lose their cp.

So if you finish 5 times in the top 3 the achievement is yours.

Easiest to do in 'one in the chamber', just learn how to shoot like a real cowboy with your pistol, keep searching and you will do just fine!

As the other solutions have said, being "In the Money" means finishing in 3rd place or higher. I for one only play One in the Chamber and I do have a few really good tips for that:

- First, DONT HIDE LIKE A COWARD. You do get points when other players are eliminated (you get 3 lives), but nowhere near as much as you do if you go out and bank kills. I've NEVER (okay, once or twice) been the last man standing in OitC, but i'm always "in the money."

- Dont shoot if someone shoots at you, at least not right away. If they shoot and miss, there's a 90% chance they'll charge you with the knife, thinking you have no ammo as well.

- Try not to force yourself to shoot. If a guy is running in a straight line, BLOW HIS ASS AWAY. If he's swerving, wait until you get a clear shot. And DONT shoot from the hip. Your aim is crap unless you aim down the sights, trust me.

- If you have Slight of Hand Pro, it makes a TON of difference. This lets you aim down your sights considerably faster, meaning you can pop off a more accurate shot than another guy who may be aiming down as soon as you fire.

UPDATE - I've been informed that perks DO NOT come into play in Wager Matches. I swear I do have Slight of Hand Pro active during Wager Matches, but I might just be going crazy.

- Watch the radar. If you see two close red blips but no kills made, that means two idiots completely missed each other and are probably charging head on with knives. If you can get there, kill one of them then get the other guy.

(FYI, you get an extra bullet everytime you make a kill)

- DONT do the "High Roller" wager matches. Unless you're really good, you'll be in debt in no time. The buy-in alone is 10000$ and the gametype is chosen at random. The other two matches are 10$ and 1000$, respectively.

- Even if you get eliminated, don't bail out of the game yet. If you're in the top 3, there's a good chance you'll still come out with a profit. One time, I got killed twice within the first 20 seconds, but still won with a 30000$ profit!

- When it's down to 2 or 3 people, then you can hide for a bit. After a period, the Spy Plane comes online and it's easy to end the game quick. It's up to you to decide if you should run to your enemies or if they should run to you. Either way, STAY MOBILE.

- Lastly, good luck! You'll probably get in games with people that REALLY suck (0/3, anyone?) and people that are absurdly good.

I just like to add that you need some CP to be able to actually play wager matches. CP is like game currency, I am not sure what gives you the most CP, but what I did was this- I played 1 round in team deathmatch, I was average and got only 4 or 5 kills, but after the match I had over 1000 CP. After that I played sticks and stones and got my achievement in 7 matches, I was out of money just twice and I am no kick ass multiplayer player!

I wanted to add this cuz noone explained that you actualy need some CP to play wager matches, maybe it is obvious to everyone except me...

Best steer clear of Sticks and Stones for this. If they hit you with a Tomahawk then you lose all your points.

I suggest one in the chamber. When you spawn sit tight until you see movement and dont fire until you can guarantee you wont miss. You only need to come in the top 3 so you should only require 3-4 kills.

The EASIEST WAY TO get this achievement is playing STICKS and STONES. I got this in no time!! What you do is just kill a few people. You don't have to stick them with the bow. Other players usually crowd around each other and try to kill each other naturally. Shoot in their direction your arrow should blow up and kill one or two of them. Keep an eye on your placement. You need to get into top 3. The cool thing about this is that once you have like 300 or 400 points, just stay clear of everyone, hide somewhere. They will kill each other and eventually bankrupt each other. If you see someone coming, suprise them by killing them. This is because if you stand still, you are invisible on the radar but if they move, you can expect them coming. Do this 5 times and the its yours. I thought I was going to have trouble with this one but I did it in my first 5 matches, I got first place a few times and I only had 100 points. So so easy..

This achievement is generally easy.
All you have to do is win 5 Wager Matches in at least 3rd, 2nd, or 1st place

Any gamemode is as good as any, just find the one that you do the best at.
You have four choices, Sharpshooter, Sticks & Stones, Gun Game, and One in the Chamber.

In Sticks & Stones, you have to get kills with a Ballistic Knife and Crossbow.
When you get hit with a Tomahawk you loose all points so watch out.

In Sharpshooter, weapons cycle every 30 seconds. Get the most kills to win.

In Gun Game, which is the easiest one to me, you have to get kills to progress through weapons. When you get knifed, you get set back to your previous weapon.

In One in the Chamber, you have one bullet, figures. You need to get as many kills as possible. You get another bullet every kill you get, so knife a few guys to get extra bullets. You also only have 3 lives, so try not to die.

Hope this guide helped! Also all players who get 'In the Money' get a few Cod Points. Play the Ante Up game so you don't loose so much money unless you're confident of your skill, otherwise, go break a leg.

As of October 29th, 2021 this achievement IS IN FACT obtainable, the best thing to do is to get everyone on the same console gen, xbox one ,360, series x/s etc to not run into any matchmaking issues, i booted up 2 consoles with bo1 and 4 accounts each with 5000 cod points each then my friend brought his two accounts with BOTH of his accounts filled with cod points, every account MUST have cod points for this to work and we easily got it that way..
the problems we faced were that my 360 was not connecting to my one and my friends xbox one for a while until it decided it did so thats what caused the issues.. different console gens not being able to play with each other for some reason…Good luck to everyone who still needs this one and i hope you found this helpful

ok you can get this achievement in 2023

I don't know if this happens on xbox 360, but on xbox one the servers are practically a ghost town, but you can get it. Of course, the only way is to boost it. sadly

an important point, I don't know if you can do this between consoles, that is 360/one
I did it while we were all on xbox one and series

first of all make sure everyone involved has cp (you get around 1000 just for playing a game of TDM and doing a few kills) each person can connect an extra controller to speed up the process (the extra account must have cp too)

6 players are necessary, if each one has an extra controller, only 3 will be necessary

Once everything is ready, search in the same wagger mode at the same time, each one on their own (IMPORTANT: DO NOT INVITE) For some reason if you try to invite someone it will tell you that you don't have cp to bet

once the game starts, the people who want the achievement must be in the top 3 as this counts as a win repeat the process 4 more times and done
