How to unlock the Snake in the Grass achievement in Call of Duty: World at War - Definitive Guide

start a solo campaign on hard landing, then about five minutes into the mission, after you get the flamethrower continue along the path until you get to an open space, then on your right there will be a large patch of long grass containing 5 concealed enemies. Just lob a grenade or randomly shoot!

note: there is also a enemy in the tree, burn him out with the flamethrower and pick up another acheivement if you havnt already got it. goog luck.

Its not the first patch of grass its the second.

Somewhere even easier to get it, on 'Little Resistance', after breaking through their lines with the artillery, keep left going through a wooden trench, with some explosive barrels, (i think this is the path for the mission anyway) everyone stops, and you see a guy climb up a tree. before moving through in to the next area with the grass, just lob some grenades in the grass in front of the tree and "Bleep-Bloop".

Snake in the Grass - Take out a Japanese soldier while he is lying in wait in the grass.

This Trophy / Achievement is fairly easy to unlock. During mission 2: Little Resistance, spot a group of banzai solders waiting in the grass.

Shoot one of them before they begin to rush you and when one is defeated your Trophy / Achievement should pop! Enjoy!

this one can be frustrating but what i did instead of trying to run at the banzais i threw a grenade into the tall grass works much better then trying to get close enough to shoot or stab and not get the cheevo

Again, this trophy can be done in almost all American missions. A 'snake in the grass' is a Jap lying there waiting for you, but hidden in the grass, most likely a banzai. Simply throw a grenade into any tall grass you see, theres a chance there's a Jap lying in wait. An easy part to do this is on Little Resistance, the second mission. Right at the start, after you clear out the two MG nests with your air strikes you have to make your way down a little path; there will be a tree in among some tall grass, lob a grenade in the grass, and one or two should die. I would recommend choosing Little Resistance and playing on Recruit difficulty just to make things easier for yourself. Play through the level as you normally would until you reach the trenches after the large open battlefield. Once you exit these trenches there will be a Japanese soldier climbing up a tree. On the ground there will be a large area of tall grass. Just throw a grenade or two into this grass and you're bound to kill at least one of the soldiers lying there.

During the mission "Blowtorch & Corkscrew" you will meet many Japanese lying in the grass. Just throw a grenade into the grass and you'll probably get this trophy. In particular you can find a lot of Japanese near the place where the path goes up the mountain, there are 5 or 6 soldiers sitting behind a large accumulation of stones.
