There are a number of driving sections in the game, all of which count towards this achievement. I unlocked this during the last car chase sequence with Juan, so you will most likely unlock it during the campaign. If not, load up your favourite level with driving and cruise.

If like me, you didn’t get this achievement when you finished the game the first time around. Load up Chapter 14. Their is a long car chase at the start of the mission.
Drive the car until you are forced on foot. Then quit the level and reload it again and repeat. The achievement progress continues to increase even if you save and quit and play again.
I had to repay the car chase another 4 times before it finally popped.

Story related and cannot be missed.
Every so often you will get a blue icon on the bottom right corner of the screen showing “Highway Patrol”, which will tell you of your progress. I believe the icon pops up every 5 miles (5, 10, 15 and trophy). You will get this once you reach Chapter 14 and begin to pursue Juan, shortly after the pursuit the trophy will pop up.

Should not be missed, as there is enough forced driving if playing the single player campaign to obtain this before the end of your first play through.
