Much appreciated. I almost didnt post the guide because I couldn't find the right wording. Eventually decided to go with what I had.

I think you have to interact with the microphone several times without anything happening to ”force” her to sing.

It was twice for me as stated in the guide. It may vary but that's a guess. I'll add it

For me took several attempts , one to test the microphone and then another to say "dead as a door nail", after that several interactions did nothing. Finally she will sing.

Yeah just mash A for a few seconds is what I did to pop it

I just interacted once, she said “123 testing” then I was mashing A a little while and then she started singing.
NO interacting with any power switch needed.

Yeah, I agree with Don ATL3, you can just keep hitting A (to mash or not to mash is up to the player) to make her finally try again, you don't need to mess with the switch.

You can do this as soon as you arrive at the microphone! By my count, it was on the 19th attempt of hitting A after the initial 'Testing, testing' line.

Sadly, I thought the point was to do it when she thought there was power to the mic, but before the final connection was made via the last switch near the microphone.. meaning I had to do a bunch of stuff to get the power on AGAIN, as this was my second time playing the chapter.

As I've said already, I'm just saying how I did it. The point is that she wouldn't interact with the microphone the second time until I attempted to turn on the switch next to it.

I repeated my solution in the win10 version and it unlocked the same way.

On my first try after clicking the microphone once and trying the power to the right, NOTHING would happen when trying to click the microphone again - UNTIL I did what Sgt Shagrat said and walk over to the left and interact with the back of the set of speakers where she says "Homemade loudspeakers, probably to amplify the sound." This is the second box on your right as you walk around the outside of the amphitheatre stairs from themicrophone - just look at the back of this box and you should be able to interact with it. After I did this, I went back to the microphone, tried again, and achieve popped. Thanks Sgt Shagrat!

Appreciate all of the comments and feedback. My guide worked twice for myself and for many others. Just derive what you will from the guide, location, level number etc and good luck.

Your guide kind of works, you should state that you need to interact with the mic multiple times after you do the testing 1212 and the power lever. I mashed A and eventually she started singing.

I can confirm you have to spam A until she sings.

I had to click it a bunch of times as well... not sure if it finally worked because I clicked enough times, or because I was right up close to the microphone...

All you have to do is update the guide. Give some credit where credit is due to those who figured out how to make it work when your guide as written didn't. No need to get defensive.

IMO the text in the achievement is a clue to force her to sing even though she doesn’t want to, which means you have to push her to do it by clicking several times on the microphone.

Maybe mashing prevents it from happening. I clicked several times, but with a couple of seconds between them of I remember correctly. See below, proven to be a wrong assumption.
