Spam A
Forget Octo-lock
Go for smaller enemies first
Don't be afraid to take some hits, killing enemies is more important and there’s a fair bit of health on the level.

Blobs
Health Orb = 52%
Different blobs that shoot first set = 72%
Health Orb = 80%
Second set = 100%

Wave 1-2:
Sets of birds = 12%
Jellyfish set 1 = 28%
Jellyfish = 44%

Health Orb

Birds and jelly fish = 51%
1 jelly fish = 53%
Eels = 65%

Euphoria Orb

1 x eel = 71%
2 x eels = 83%
Jelly fish = 87%

Health Orb

More jellyfish = 93%
Distant eel = 100%

Wave 1-3:
2 x Birds = 4%
4 x Birds = 12%
2 x Purple blobs = 21%
3 x blobs = 35%

Health Orb

2 x Birds = 39%
Stingray = 49%

Euphoria Orb

4 x purple blobs = 67%
4 x birds = 76%

Health Orb

Stingray = 86%
purple blobs = 100%

Wave 1-4: The Whale
Stingrays count (1st and 4th give health Orbs) – I just blasted them as soon as I saw them there are four in total.
First pass to head = 4%
Clear head for 6%
Pass to tail = 12%
Tail = 18%
Whale spins = 19% (just after the spin and kill first few)
Around 23% for the head

Cutscene = 43%

Changes shape = 50%

Use at least one bomb

Lumi appears =91%

Use final two bombs batter her !!


Even knowing all of the above this was very hard to unlock in one playthrough.
Learn each section, hope and pray.

This is are excellent guide for this level, for the Gold Star (100% + 800k) rank you definitely need some practice, but you can get the 100% on your first try. Just follow the video, this is very detailed and useful guide.
