How to unlock the Beaten to the Punch! achievement in Clash of the Titans - Definitive Guide

This is easiest done in the Argos Castle "free roam" challenge level. In the 2nd area there are 5 skeletons and in the 3rd area there are 3 skeletons. To get the skeletons to yank off their heads, you have to beat on them until they go into Sub Weapon Sieze mode (flashing orange), allow them to recover, then wait for them to begin flashing orange again on their own. This signals that they're about to drop their weapon and yank off their head. As soon as their head comes off, instant kill them with a Soul Seize (RB) before they can throw it at you. You may need to put the skeletons into Sub Weapon Seize mode a few times before they finally take off their head.

Move back and forth between the 2nd and 3rd areas and you'll pop the achieve in no time!

This is quite hard to explain but it is a very easy trophy to get. A skeleton that throws a skull is actually throwing his own head, there is a certain method to make sure that the skeleton does this.

What you need to do is put that skeleton into sub-weapon seize a few times. So just constantly hit it with your sword until it starts flashing orange. Then just wait until it is back to normal and then repeat. After about the third sub-weapon seize the skeleton may now throw his head.

What you need to do is watch the skeleton closely as it comes out of sub-weapon seize mode (stops flashing orange). If the skeleton starts flashing orange straight away of its own accord then this means it will now throw its head at you.

You need to be quick on that part. Either attack the skeleton really quickly with your sword or use a powerful weapon on it like a hammer or a bow. Just do this 20 times and the trophy is yours.

NOTE: Skeletons without armour or clothing do not work for this trophy. The skeleton normally needs to have some armour like a helmet & shield.

Happens on almost all armored skeletons.

Here's what's important: when you get the skeleton to blink yellow (if you press , then a QTE will begin), don’t do this and wait until the skeleton comes to his senses, then it’s important to catch the moment when he turns yellow on his own, he won’t blink for long, drops his weapon, grabs his head... then you need to hit him something that will simply cause him to explode (there is time for 1-2 hits).
