How to unlock the The Moon Shall Never Have Them achievement in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Definitive Guide

Just to add my method

This is just after your mcv is deployed and you have cleared the island.

Using your 5 mirage tanks move east and attack the 4 war factories. At the same time build 2 engineers. If done carefully your mirage tanks will have destroyed the base and survived. Now use your engineers to capture the iron curtain and super power reactor. Quickly head north west towards the enemy airbase with the mirages. Deploy the iron curtain on your mirages and storm the airbase killing all 4 airbases.

You will probably lose your mirages now but you have just wiped out all airbases and war factories. From here I built airfields and bombers to destroy all the iron curtains and the super vacuum imploder. Also remember to make your co commander attack.

As mentioned secure your base with some air defences and some tanks but generally the counter attack is small.

Finished the final attack using a bomber to paradrop tanya into the enemy complex to destroy. Had about 4 mins remaining.

Hope this helps

I'll give this a try this weekend. I have had 3 attempts at this level on Hard and everytime I run out of time. I use the Mirage Tanks on the War Factory bases with no problem at all but never thought about capturing the Iron Curtain and using it on the Mirage Tanks......

I always seem to have an annoying voice in this game telling me "low credits".........I so want to smash her face in! AARRGGHHH!!!!!

BOOM! It worked!

The airbases were a nightmare until I read this guide. Turns out when I got to both these bases there was hardly any enemy units built.

Takes a lot of difficulty away from this mission.

Thanks! It was a breeze after the War Factories and Airbases had gone.

I recommend waiting for your co commander to have his proton collider ready, as sending him too soon will end up in his (and yours because no one is guarding your side) death. I was able to destroy the other curtains with bombers. For defending base I constructed a lot of reactors and multigunner turrets to defend against the bridge. I also build tanya soon because i could send her to dispatch some apocalypse tanks with c4. This gave me enough time to bring her to the center to end it. You may also get bombarded by dreadnoughts from the water but that was almost at the end for me so getting half of my base leveled wasnt too important

Why Not Just C4 It?

If you are beating this on hard make sure you keep a commando alive to take out the launch platform. It has a ton of health and cannot be easily destroyed in the time allowed. The commando can take it out with one well placed C4. You'll have to warp them there inside a personnel carrier. Warping them outside a vehicle will insta-kill them.

This may seem obvious to some people but it took me a multitude of deaths to realize this. Hope this helps someone.

Also in the onset of the map make sure you keep your tanks alive. You'll need them to knock out the enemies, weapon emplacements, and weapon factories at the base nearest to you. Build engineers to capture this enemy bases power plant and harvesting facility. This will help tremendously because you will soon find yourself outnumbered if you do not.

Thanks for the suggestion here, I'd spent hours with no luck on this mission purely because I'd end up with 60 seconds left on the clock after finally disabling the iron curtains and it never occured to me to save a chronoshift and just blow it up with Tanya!

3 hours spent trying this on hard solo. I saved when the AI co-commander took out an Iron Curtain and reloaded when they let their base get trashed. Took out the last two Iron Curtains in a bombing run with only 1 minute left and saved it but could not finish off the Space Rocket in that time. Was all set to start from the beginning and had already began overwriting my saves, but thought I should take a look on TA for some tips and your tip to use C4 just saved me another 3 hours :D

I hadn't build a Chronosphere, but on the second reload I was able to save 1 of the 3 bombers I had left that were being persued by fighters while returning from their bombing run. Luckily I had Tanya defending my base because there wouldn't have been time to train her. I put Tanya in the bomber and flew to the Island. Just as the bomber was about to get shot down she jumped out but still had a short distance to cover on foot. Tanya set the charges with 0 seconds on the clock and I got the winning message AND the losing message! But most importantly I got the achievement.

If you’re attempting this on hard, I would strongly recommend you do this co-op as the time limit becomes very restrictive.

Once the bases have been set up, the blue commander should rush to get mirage tanks and use them to attack the east side of the map. Keep a few tanks back for base defence, and aim to build a chronosphere, charged by the time the iron curtains are down. With the spare airfield, you could build some Apollo fighters as you will be bombarded with Kirovs later in the mission.

The green commander should aim for air superiority and bombers and build a photon collider. Use the bombers to take out the west iron curtains and save the photon collider for when the vacuum imploader appears at the north east iron curtain.

Once all iron curtains are down, the green commander should use his air support to soften the forces around the shuttle and use his photon collider again if it has been able to recharge. The blue commander should then chronosphere in a group of 6+ mirage tanks to finish the job.

In general, don’t forget about defending your base and be prepared to help each other out if problems occur.

This is possibly the hardest level in the game to beat on hard. Keep cool, stay patient and good luck!
