Contra Anniversary Collection

Make sure you are playing Contra: Hard Corps from the main page. The Japanese version in the Bonus menu will not work. To repeat exactly what worked for me first time. I customized my buttons in the option menu as listed in the soloution. I picked the girl as her pic is on the achievement. Then follow the path I have above.

Thanks, i'll give it another try. I think maybe my problem was playing on easy, so i'll do a normal difficulty run. Also, i never thought about using the girl, that's another great idea. I'll let you know if it works.

Decisive: what was the problem? difficulty?

Not sure why this isn't mentioned already, but make sure you choose "Refuse" when given the option near the end. The other option doesn't give you the achievement.

Difficulty doesn't matter, I did this on easy and it popped just fine. Also, the game is garbage.

I'm confused, on start there's no difficulty selection, and this appears to be the only game where you can't customize buttons (there's no controls option when you press LT to bring up the options menu).

On the regular in game title screen scroll down to options and hit start. Then scroll down to control and hit A. Push down on the D pad 3 times. Then hit start twice and you are back at the main menu ready to start. This will set you up with the recommended settings listed above.
