How to unlock the Master of Disguise achievement in Costume Quest - Definitive Guide

You will need to acquire each costume and use its special ability once in battle to unlock the achievement. The costumes, their general locations and the abilities are listed below.

** Any character in the party can equip a costume and execute the moves, it doesn't have to be the party leader and it doesn't need to be done more than once. Thanks to merbear and z for asking.
** Noteworthy is you CAN backtrack to retrieve any pieces you may have missed, prior to beating the final boss.

Robot (start the game with) – Ability: Missile Barrage

Knight (obtained when Everett joins) – Ability: Guardian Shield

Statue of Liberty (obtained by finding three costume pieces in Auburn Pine, design given by kid at the house party) – Ability: Anthem

Space Warrior (obtained by finding three costume pieces in Auburn Haven Mall, design given by security guard) – Ability: Meteor Avalanche

Ninja (obtained by finding three costume pieces in Auburn Haven Mall, design given by group of kids in ninja costumes guarding third level of mall) – Ability: Kitsune Shroud

Unicorn (obtained by finding three costume pieces in Auburn Haven Mall) – Ability: My Pretty Panacea

French Fries (obtained by speaking to the french fry vendor in Auburn Haven Fall Valley) – Ability: Salt Assault

Pumpkin (obtained by speaking to the green glowing scarecrows “Dorrion?” throughout the story starting in the cemetery on the way to Auburn Haven Mall from Auburn Pine) – Ability: All Hallows’ Eve

Vampire (obtained by finding three pieces in Auburn Haven Fall Valley, design given by speaking to the carnival ticket booth vendor) – Ability: There’s a Bat in My Hair

Black Cat (obtained by finding all the Creepy Treat Cards in the game) – Ability: The Cat’s Meow

I had trouble finding the unicorn costume, I was afraid I lost this achievement because I beat the second to last boss before I had the unicorn. it might be helpful if you could add more specific locations for the costumes.

I'd also add that you CAN backtrack to any area so if you haven't gotten some of the costumes so if you're missing one you can go back and get it, just make sure to use it before beating the final boss, you can usually still find enemies walking around in the mall.

I think that GameFAQs might have changed their link structure. Here is an alternative link to the thread, I think, you were referring to: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/xbox360/604987-costume-quest/a...

I'd put that link in the above post into the solution. As it stands the solution isn't particularly useful as you can just hit Y to see what the different costumes are. The hard part is finding all the pieces.

I agree with Quarantane,it would be really helpful to add that you can backtrack to find anything you missed. I was unsure if I could I until I read the comments section.

Otherwise thanks helpfull info.

You can always find enemies on the 2nd floor of the mall after you get the ninja costume. It doesn't matter if you beat the end boss first or not, you can do any cleanup necessary after beating the game.

I couldn’t find enemies in the Mall, there were however some still in Auburn Pines but these proved too weak to withstand the 2 attacks prior to the special. I found it worked by redoing the final boss battle, getting the specials I required then quitting the battle, change to the next set of outfit and repeating, popped after last special was performed.

I had nothing to do with the below video. It does them in a weird order, but it's the best at telling you where to find the unicorn and Vampire pieces.

Robot: Awarded in the story.
Knight: Awarded in the story.
Statue of Liberty: Story-related.
Space Warrior: Story-related.
Ninja: Awarded in the story.
Pumpkin: Talk to the Green glowing scarecrows. They're mostly obvious.
Unicorn: See Video
Vampire: See Video
French Fries: Awarded in the story.
Black Cat: See
Costume QuestAll Decked OutThe All Decked Out achievement in Costume Quest worth 19 pointsCollect all Creepy Treat Cards.

Completing this achievement earns the Black Cat outfit.
Grubbin: Story-related

Each of the powers must be used in a fight. Any character may use the costume. Grubbin does not have a power and you can't use him in a fight (If you try, he's replaced with another costume). The unicorn and Statue's healing abilities may be used even if no one is injured. The achievement will unlock while the final attack animation is playing.

Every costume has their own unique ability that they earn in combat every 3rd turn. Some of them do damage, some protect allies and others heal allies. There are a total of 10 costumes that you can use in battle and they all have special abilities. To use these special abilities you'll need to wait 2 turns and then press instead of to attack. You can switch your costume while traversing the world map by holding and going to the costume you want. Once your cursor is over it press and your costume will change. You can change your allies costumes by holding to open the costume member and then pressing to scroll through the party members. Use each costume ability once to earn the trophy.

For the location of each costume see Dressed to Quest

You must use a special ability (button ) of each suit in battle. The Goblin Mask Suit is not needed for this achievement.
