This achievement (and all the Aced X ones) is awarded for completing the Challenge mode in the game. Challenge mode is the exact same as Standard except you can't use Save, Rewind or Cheat. In short it is the "legit" mode. To make it easier, select the config menu in the game (not in the main menu) and press the 
button. Set the difficulty to Easy and the lives to 9. It might still not be enough but you have 3 continues (=27 lives) as well. The game is relatively lenient with losing a life, you will keep most of your firepower (you will lose a fairy). My first attempt was terrible but I still only needed to use one continue. I would suggest the fourth loadout with the fire breath and the bubble defensive magic. You can beat almost all bosses and enemies with ease but you will want to keep 5 of your magic attacks for the final boss (not the clone witch but the huge fairy with the shield). You can regain magic by killing the laser frog like enemies, you will find a handful on the last level so feel free to use some magic on earlier bosses (really only the Ent enemy needs some). As soon as the final battle starts spam the fire breath. Landing five of those kills the final boss instantly. If you don't have enough magic then you are looking forward to a long and drawn out battle where you'll need to get behind the boss when she does her pillar attack from too close. Since there is no rewind here you really don't want to fight her the normal way.

As for general gameplay advice... most things are self explanatory. All but one or two enemies have easy and recognizable patterns. Watch out for the laser "frogs", try to double bomb them quickly. If you fly above them you can usually duck back to kill them after they finished their attacks. If you have trouble with a boss (I think the Ent has lots of life and the mushroom spikes are very unpredictable) then use a magic fire breath on them.
