How to unlock the Original S-license achievement in Crazy Taxi - Definitive Guide

Has to be done in Original mode.
The License achievements do not stack, you have to get an S, A, B and C rank on seperate attempts.
The licenses are split by the money you make

S = $5000+
A = $4000-4999
B = $3000-3999
C = $2000-2999

To make this even easier you can go into settings and increase your starting time and lower the traffic difficulty and this won't affect the achievements

Isn't there an Awesome/Crazy license awarded for 10k/25k like the original?

I have fallen short of this by a small amount several times now, it's frustrating... the main problem is that the arrows will sometimes lead you in the wrong direction, so you get lost in a maze of dead ends, the timer running out. Also when the car likes to sit with its wheels spinning for 5 seconds like you're driving on ice. Oh I also hate the way the camera spins 360 degrees quickly after you drop off a passenger, which disorientates you. Horrible game imo.

This achievment is tricky because it comes with so many conditions, it's not actually that hard.

To do this you have to select Original.

But it does not matter what length of game you select. I recommend a 10 minute game and once you have reached your target stop.

The achievment is not stackable. It you get an S licence on your first go you will not get the achievments for getting an A, B or C licence. So you will have to play this at least 4 times.

Just to make sure you don't screw up in the last second because a car got in your way to make this a cake walk from the main menu go to 'Help & Options' then to 'Settings' Then change the Time and Traffic difficulty all the way down and you will breeze through this.

To see what you need here are the scores required:

S - $5000 >
A - $4000 > 4999
B - $3000 > 3999
C - $2000 > 2999

I got this achievement by playing by arcade rules in original mode. Try to pick up as many customers as possible to make sure your time doesn't run out.

When your delivering your current customer to the place he or she wants, try to place them next to your next customer, so he can step right in. This gives you 5 to 8 seconds extra time!

Start with green custumors. They pay much. If you don't see then close by, then just pick a orange or red one. The time between customers is the most painful, so try to avoid them.

I got this achievement after earning $5,019.94

Other achievements for lower licenses do not unlock when reaching the S-license.

Earn between $5,000 - $9,999 to get the S class license in Original mode. It's important to note that you can't stack the license trophies; you can only earn one license trophy per a game play.

Several playthroughs needed, each license needs to be separately done in one game.

You'll need to following amount of money to reach each license

C class license $2000 - $2.999
B class license $3000 - $3.999
A class license $4000 - $4.999
S class license $5000 - $9.999

If you go over $9.999 you'll gain the Awesome and even Crazy! Licenses (if you go over $20.000).
None of them will give you an achievement, not even the S class license achievement. The game probably thinks you're too good for the S class achievement if you can get higher ratings. To gain an achievement your total should be between the set amount of that license, i.e. between $5000 - $9.999 will get you the S class license but if you already have that achievement you won't get the A class license or lower if you get that "score" again.

You could play by arcade rules to gain the achievements but it's faster and easier to play 10, 5 and 3 minute games to get each achievement. Four 10 minute games are more than enough to get the S and A class licenses in both modes, Two 5 Minute games are enough to get both B class licenses and for the final 2 C licenses you can play a 3 minute game.

The only thing you need to know is that you can get extra money by performing crazy jumps, crazy drifts and near misses but it's hardly worth the risk because in 10 minutes you should have no problem getting more than $5000 for a S class license.
