Start on Normal so that you can get items for Hard and above. You get nothing for playing the default game on easy, and Difficulty Mode trophies don't stack.

I advise you to start with the Sacred Knight difficulty (difficult), after which there will be no problems with Magic Knight (norm)

There is no point in starting the game on hard, because you need skills and knowledge of locations, besides, you still won’t get a trophy for normal and there will be no time savings. Start on normal to get the hang of it. I also recommend getting the Inhuman Blade item on normal, which is located in location 4-046 (together with Diamond). It’s not easy to get, but it greatly simplifies the passage on hard.
