The Quick and the Dead

The Quick and the Dead

Kill or incapacitate 50 enemies while time is slowed.

24.4%

How to unlock the The Quick and the Dead achievement in Cyberpunk 2077 - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you must have a cyberware implant that slows down time equipped so that you can kill an enemy while time is slowed.

Method 1:
The cheapest cyberware implant that slows down time is a nervous system implant called “Kerenzikov” which costs $5000 at a Ripperdoc (scissors icon on the map).

* Kerenzikov allows you to aim and shoot while dodging. Slows time by 50 percent for 1.5 sec. when blocking, aiming or attacking during a slide or dodge. Cooldown 5 sec.
I used the Ripperdoc in Japantown to purchase this implant.

Method:
Weaken enemies by shooting them until their health is low. While sprinting press cn_B to slide then quickly hold cn_LT to aim and slow down time for a short time. You must kill the enemy in this short time window. Shotguns, revolvers and pistols work best. Kill 50 enemies like this and the achievement will unlock.

This is a video of how it is done:
Method 2:
You can purchase the “Dynalar Sandevistan MK. 1” operating system which costs $7500 from the western most Ripperdoc in Northside, Watson. To equip this item, you need 6 Reflexes.

* Dynalar Sandevistan MK. 1 slows time by 50% for 8 sec. (Cooldown 30 sec.). Increases any damage dealt by 5 percent when Sandevistan is active. Activated by holding cn_LB cn_RB.
Once you have it equipped, find a group of enemies (story missions, side missions, around the open world or police), activate it to slow down time and kill enemies while time is slowed.
Some other nervous system implants that slow down time can be seen in the image below:

I'm wondering if this achievement is sensitive. Because I have been grinding it and it will either go up, or won't at all. I'm at 80% and I reload saves to try it

I have a feeling this game follows in game stats. Reloading a save for me and repeating kills doesn't seem to stack.

Most likely yeah, the life path talk choice achievement doesn't let you reload either. Which is mildly annoying giving the options are finite and twice xbox hasn't tracked the option and I cant reload to get it to register.

I didn't reload to grind kills, only to revert back to before I bought the implant as its one I never use in my tech build so I obviously can't say for definite.

But given other achievements being weird about reloads It wouldn't surprise me at all if this one was also a little weird.

So I guess the best bet would be to keep playing and doing it on new enemies. Very weird CD would do that

A nice item to have is the Zetatech Sandevistan MK.3 (requires 12 in reflexes though, so save and reload if you want) but you get it free off a body for the CyberPsycho at the Seaside Cafe.

Yep! Solid tip from alladaskill17 the Zetatech Sandevistan MK.3 is on a body in the search area after you defeat the CyberPsycho. The location is in the bottom left corner of Heywood right where the ocean hits land and meets the river.

Sure enough, it started tracking again despite my doing nothing different other than post here and now I have the achievement.

The magic of TA.

I knocked this out at the same time as True Warrior (melee kills). Basically just went to a bunch of assaults I was over levelled for and snuck up behind enemies, ideally small groups. I'd then let them detect me by standing up and batter them all with a tire iron while Synaptic Accelerator had time slowed down for me. A pretty much foolproof method.

It stopped for me at 76% and all I did was change the method of slowing down time. Original I was doing the dodge method, then I moved to the berserk method and it kept tracking.

I am stuck at 72% and have no idea why. Was tracking just fine then stopped. I’m using sandevistan mk 3. Could the update have bugged this?? Help!!

Thanks for all the comments and additions. I'm using a combination of the Kerenzikov, Synaptic Accelerator, and Zetatech Sandevistan Mk 2. Having only a 6 in Reflexes is really limiting. Also, I'm on PS5, not Xbox/PC, so I don't have the fancy tracker to know I'm making progress. Wish me luck.

{ETA} Less than an hour later, the trophy popped. Now ditching this useless deck and going back to my stealthy hacker setup.

For all those saying "my progression bar isn't moving and stuck".

Simply fast travel to anywhere on the map, then fast travel back to where you are once the enemies respawn, then try killing them in slow-mo again, you'll notice the progression bar now moves. Tested this last night and now have my cheevo!

I will get around to making a video later on in the week.

To mirror the comments of xFiver, switching weapons worked for me as well. I had been using the pistol and tried a sword, but that didn’t work, so I switched to a shotgun and the progress started updating again.

I've got a different problem; my implants stopped working. I can no longer get time to slow and I have no idea why. I'm thinking it has to be something else I've installed blocking this?

EDIT: Changing what weapon was in what slot fixed this. For some reason.

On patch 1.52 and I'm stuck at 76%. No matter what method I use, whether its the slide ou the LB+RB skill, or any weapons, its not going up one more percent....

My counter was also stuck until I found a group of 4 respawning enemies by California & Cartwright in Watson. Head just west of the fast travel point, across the street, under a walkway with some white letters on it and down the stairs. Once you kill them, fast travel away (I used Goldstein in Watson) and fast travel right back. I was getting progress with each kill this way after getting stuck with no progress using all the other methods I could find.

Anybody got this to work properly? Played it right after release and got stuck at 96%.
Now started a 2nd playthrough after patch 1.61 but still no progress.
Damn shame

if you die and reload a checkpoint, the guys you already killed will not count towards the achievement if you kill them again. The game must have some sort of checksum on each NPC or something. Slowing time while sniping doesn't work as when the shot goes off it seems to go back to regular time before it hits them. Also slowing time and the grabbing someone to take them down doesn't work, because time speeds up the second you grab them.

I had the best luck using the best sword possible and killing guys with that while time was actually slowed (with the 8 seconds implant)

Anybody know if update 2.0 has fixed this achievement

By Baldy89 on 21 Sep 2023 20:12
Still broken after 2.0 and trying the usual stuff:

Enemies, cops, sliding, manual activation, different weapons with and without mods, including melee weapons. Blade and blunt, Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the other one.

Handguns, revolvers, snipers, automatics, ballistic and tech

I've tried it all, and still stuck at 96%

It finally worked. Sandevistan OS still does not, but I added the Cyberware that will slow down time when I am detected by an enemy. Used a sword. And suddenly the achievment popped whilst standing still at 96% for the last two years.

Phantom Liberty is already pre-installed, maybe this did the trick.

Okay, after the newest patch(2.1), it worked. It worked so good, it also automatically decided to pop "Frequent Flyer", and "The Fool" right from the bat. And those requirements weren't even met!

Finally, free from the chains that bind.

UPDATE 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077

Hi guys, I tried multiple ways to get this achievement and I finally did it!!!

What you need to do:
- Have cyberware implant that slows down time (I have OS: Zetatech Sandevistal)
- Travel in front of The Night City jail, which is located in Arroyo (part of the Santo Domingo district)
- Go around jail with any weapon you want and kill enemies inside during slowed time

I cannot get any movement on the tracker for this achievement. I know I've performed some correctly because I'm stuck at 8%, but I don't know what I did to make them count. The only thing I had to slow time when I got these is the lower-level one that triggers it when you get spotted.

Every attempt I've made since to deliberately try to kill an enemy during the time slowing has given me nothing. I've even added in the one that slows time when you aim while sliding and still can't get any tracking.

I thought maybe it was because I was using stealth that maybe they weren't technically enemies since they weren't aggroed. But no, I just shot a guy in the face while in open combat with him and his body hit the ground before the time-slow stopped and I'm still at 8%.

I'm kinda hoping that the magic of TA will work and that my complaining about this here will make it fix itself. A long shot, I know, but it's worked in the past. laugh

NOPE.
40 gig update and NOT fixed. Not only that but still can't interact and pick up some random items. That's 10 minutes of playing after the new update and yeah, it's still broke. Back to the shelf for another 6 months I guess

Not really a guide, but perhaps this will help someone else who's progress was stuck.

My progress never went past 82% for the longest time. Instead of using my pistol, I performed a slide to slow time and then shot enemies with my sniper. That got me the remaining kills I needed.

I guess, in the end, try changing up your weapons to see if that helps.

So just as a confirmation to anyone who night be wondering, my build currently is super tech orientated. 10 in tech and int and the base 3 in everything else.

I made a save, installed the £5000 implants mentioned above l, got out a shotgun and went around doing assaults.

Held LT to aim as mentioned, then double tapped b while holding forward (or backwards if I was too close) after aim was vaguely lined upto enter slow mo and that made it hard to miss.

Of course it goes without saying being on easy will definitely help this if you want to grind it out.

Cant do it one after the other there's a short wait you can spend reloading etc before I would repeat the process.

Didnt take me long at all, reloaded the save (£5000 isn't much but that car achievement takes loads so wanted to keep the cash from an implant i never use cause I'm all about hacking).

So yeah your build doesn't matter, I'm sure higher skill in things like said shotgun or athletics will help but you'll certainly not have trouble if, like me, you have nothing in those areas. Just in case anyone was worried about that.

Good guide, dude. Was worried about it potentially being missable for me when I saw talks about Body Att 11 for a perk. Unlocked easily.

OK, I got this without really trying. I'm playing with the 2.0 update.

Open the cool perks and but both tier of the 'Focus' perk. Then buy 'Head to Head' and then the 'Deep Breath' perk - which slows time by 25% for pistols, revolvers, snipers etc when focus is active.

Then just use any of the guns recommend to get kills, should unlock fairly quickly

Just popped this the same way. Spec'd myself into pistols and headshot damage (under Cool tree). Got the perk to slow time when ADS with pistols, do not have any of the Cyberware that slows times, and popped it last night.

Before you can start working on this cumulative achievement, you first need to get cyberware installed in you that slows down time. There are many options for this, but by far the best is the Synaptic Accelerator implant for your Nervous System. This can be found in the uncommon, rare, or epic varities at most Ripperdocs. This implant slows down time when an enemy detects you. I highly recommend getting this implant installed (the uncommon version only costs €1,500) as soon as possible, so you can start working on this achievement. The best places to work on kills for this achievement are as you're doing all the NCPD hustles around the map. As you approach one, walk up to an enemy aimed at their head. When they detect you, the screen will go blue and time will slow. Unload on their head to kill them. Depending on which rarity implant you got, you'll likely only get one kill towards this achievement per activation, maybe two if you're fast, high level, and the enemies are weak. There is a cooldown on the slowdown effect, so you'll need to wait a minute or two to do it again. With how much there is to do on the map, this will come well before you finish everything.

Note that, if you want, you can use manual save reloading to grind this out on the same enemy/enemies over and over.

First you need to buy a Cyberware that slows time, like the Dynalar Sandevistan that you can find at the Ripperdoc located in North Watson. You'll need level 6 in Reflexes. There are some other cyberware that slow time but only when you dodge or slide, which means you'd need the Multitasker perk from the Body tree. This one is less tedious as you just need to activate it and it slows time for a moment. Now grab your best gun, activate the time slow and kill some enemies. Rinse and repeat until it pops. You can also do that on police.

The Dynalar Sandevistan is also useful for Gunslinger trophy_bronze.png.

First you will need a nervous system implant that has the effect of "slowing down time". You can buy it from Ripper, marked on the map with white scissors

For example: at the Baca Clinic in the Watson area
These enhancements typically slow down time while sliding or dodging.
You also need to take the “Multitasking” perk in the “Body” > “Athletics” skill tree. This will allow you to shoot while sprinting, sliding and jumping.
Now slide to slow down time and kill enemies while time is slowing down.
Repeat 50 times.
The police are also considered "enemies". So you can farm this anytime in an open world where the police respawn infinitely.

To get the trophy, all you need is an implant; you don’t need to upgrade the perk. Do a dodge (2 clicks ), At once and finish in slow motion.

A katana with 1000+ damage and an implant that slows down time when detected (Synaptic Accelerator) will help you: it will come out in parallel with the closure of blue missions in areas, if you approach the first victims through stealth.
Green does not require any additional skill leveling.

The easiest way is to install a Zetatech sandevistan implant (Watson, Northside) of normal quality or higher, it requires 6 reactions. 8 seconds of slowdown is enough to shoot a couple of people.

I bought Zetatekh Sandevistan (ver. 3) from a ripper in the City Center >> Business District.
Activated + and gives 16 seconds of time. Enough to take out 4-6 enemies.
For him you need to push Reaction to lvl 12. You can save before purchasing.
The trophy is not cumulative and cannot be farmed in one location. You need to drive around the city and clear different points.

It’s easier to use zetatech, just press 2 buttons and you have 12 seconds, but you need a reaction of 9.
