How to unlock the The Wasteland achievement in Cyberpunk 2077 - Definitive Guide

Below is an image of all the Gigs and NCPD Scanner Hustles for the Badlands that must be completed in order to unlock this achievement.

The locations on this map are the exact locations I completed to unlock this achievement. I started at 0 percent on my achievement tracker and kept track of my progress until the achievement unlocked.

You might have to increase your Street Cred Level if a location does not appear for you. Also, this is best done right before the point of no return as some Gigs will not appear until certain story missions are completed.

I completed all of these locations at Street Cred Level 50 and right before the point of no return (right before the last story mission "Nocturne 0P55N1").

* Reported Crimes: "Comrade Red", "Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close", "Blood In The Air" and "I Don't Like Sand" will appear after you complete their corresponding Reported Crime NCPD Scanner Hustle (which is indicated by the red arrow on the map).

* The Cyberpsycho Sightings "House On A Hill", "The Wasteland" and "Second Chances" which are located in the Badlands are not required for this achievement. The exact locations of these Cyberpsycho Sightings can be found here:

Am I the only one who see Euralio Alma grave (that is not even marked on this map) and cannot interact with it? And I am stuck at 97% of this achievement. WTF?

Gave it another try, both missions (Trevors last ride and Radar love) are broken. Everything else gives achievement progress.

I don't know if this is an issue with the latest update but I just cleared the area and I'm stuck at 69% Reloaded previous saves with no luck

Took 3 weeks off from the game and now this is broken.....
Yellow sidemissions won't give me progress, while blue NCPD missions do. Broken game.
This game is a huge letdown.

I was on 97% after doing everything that showed. I'm only as far as 'Automatic Love' in the story. I completed Panam's 'Riders in the Storm' and still had nothing so did 'Trevor's Last Ride'...still nothing.

After this I was messing around and tried driving past the border checkpoint and got killed. When I loaded game, a new Crime in Progress event had spawned around Biotechnica Flats, completing this popped the achievement.

Does the mission "These Boots Are Made For Walking", the Nomad path mission where you relocate your car from the intro, affect this?

I've got that mission, get to the location... no car!

Ok i was stuck at 97% of this mission until I completed The Hunt side job. Once that was done there was a missing NCPD out in the badlands by Sunshine Motel (east of it)

I can confirm, against TTDog666's comment, that you do not need "These Boots Are Made for Walking" in order for this achievement to pop. Never saw the car, and it was, in fact, my only incomplete quest when I got to the end of the game.

If you, like me, are still looking for that last missing piece at 97%, maybe check under the highway overpass at the border of the Badlands and Rancho Coronado, just West of the Madeki Fuel Station in the Badlands. That NCPD gig says it's in Rancho, but it's a Badlands node. Brought me up to 100% after completing the second objective for it.

The final 3% are on the left side of MEDESKI GAS STATION under a bridge between all the trash dump. It‘s a mission on the boarder between Santo Domingo and the Badlands.

For those who are stuck at 97%, the last NCPD Scanner is actually fairly simple once you know where to look. As TAI JASON said, the final NCPD Scanner you're looking for is directly to the west across from the MEDESKI GAS STATION. The final NCPD Scanner is technically in Santo Domingo in the dump field. You will see a small shack with only 2 enemies, one is standing next to a corpes in a small shack to the right, and next to that shack is another smaller green shack with an enemy kneeling down searching through garbage. Once you complete this NCPD Scanner automatically track the next NCPD Scanner after it shows up on your screen. The final one for the Badlands will be in a blue shipping container literally 10-20 meters to your right which is now in the Badlands. After collecting the items from the safe in the shipping container, the achievement will pop.

I just wanted to say thank you, it was bugged to me, this was the final achievement to me. So I reload a previous save file and did it all again following you guide and the achievement poped up.

Dakota was bugged talking about a mission that i've had alread done so it was never showing as GIG complete.

If anyone is having the same issue, i recomend do all the achievements and reload a previous save to do all the area again.

Thank You Metal Crusher, you saved my mental health, i was so frustrated about this one, i was having nightmares about it. Thank You Very Much. <3

Another 97%'er here. cry

So the mission "Reported Crime: Extremely loud and incredibly close" is a two part mission and it didn't show the 2nd part when I completed the first. I had to go back to the map and chose it again. The 2nd part was a yellow marker instead of a blue and the game likes to default to the main story mission all of the time so I missed it.

If it helps anyone, I needed to complete reported crime: extremely loud and incredibly close. It’s literally on the border with Santo Domingo and I didn’t think it was within this region. It’s the quest on the far left under the highway in the above images.

I was stuck at 97% and none of the other comments had helped at all. I tried everything. So I was driving around and relatively close to Dakota, southeast of her and just south of the road, was a small little town of tents that I drove into. There was no icon on the map. Everyone there was Wraiths and very much hostile and I wasted them all. As the last enemy died, I got "Job Complete" in blue on the left side of the screen and the achievement popped. That was before I even looted the body with the shard and such. Hopefully this can help someone else out!

This is less of a specific guide for this region in particular, but more a set of guidelines and tips for these "Complete x area" achievements in general.

If you think you've completed everything in an area (ie: you can't find anything else on the map) try one of the following things and see if it spawns another quest, or pops your achievement:
-Skip time in increments of 6 hours at a time and recheck the map. Some quests seem to be tied to certain times of the day? Worth trying at least.
-Go into your Shards and read all of your unread ones. A lot of times the NCPD scan missions drop shards that lead to other missions and they're easy to miss if you're just plowing through these for the achievements. This solved the majority of my issues.
-If neither of the above worked, then simply move onto the next area. On two separate occasions (Watson and Heywood) I didn't get my achievement until I was doing something in another area. I'm not sure if this was just a delayed reaction, or I had a quest that started in one region and ended in another. Either way, be patient, and try it.

Hope this helps someone.

Same thing actually happened to me, thanks for mentioning it. Now I can't get Santo Domingo's achievement to pop despite having cleared the map and trying all of my above tips:-(

That's because I think game looks if everything is done in the map, not in the journal. Which means that if you have a quest that starts in Santo Domingo and you have second part that has the objective 20 meters away but its wastelands on the map, you wont get the achievement until you do that second objective in wasteland

If you open up the Map, you can use the D-pad (on Xbox) to change the filter of what icons are shown. Change it to "Custom" and you select "NCPD Scanner" - this will show you all those pesky hustles.

See It's Elementary trophy_silver.png.

The Badlands are the areas outside of the main districts (North of Watson, East of Santo Domingo, South/South-East of  Pacifica)
