How to unlock the High Flier achievement in Darksiders - Definitive Guide

A good place to get this achievement is the the first time you enter the shadow realm that has the wave of duskbats.
You'll want to jump up while close to the first bat and press B to do a killing move.
As its doing its killing move, rotate the camera to locate your next victim.(preferably one that close by so you can chain the jumps/executions together)
As soon as your bats die, hit A to jump towards the next victim and quickly press B to do the execution move.
Repeat this and you'll earn yourself another achievement.

This solution may have had more details - but TA server death and 6 months no back may not have additional details.
Wicelow listed you can also do this in cathedral area - which is where he did it.

Another sure-fire location to get this one is directly after riding the angelic beast, at the very beginning of Twilight Cathedral. There will be exactly 5 bats in the surrounding area, and no other enemies to get in the way. Just make sure to run around and get the attention of all of them before attempting the achievement.

Another great place (where I got mine) is inside the Cathedral.
The big central room with the statue hanging from the roof is full of bats, catch their attention and start killing.
Plus there is a checkpoint when you enter the room, so it's easy to restart if you fail.

Great guide! Might be worth noting that only 4 bats spawn in the beginning. My first attempt I got all 4 just fine but no others spawned. On my second attempt just after I killed the fourth another 4 spawned and I was able to get 8 in a row :) If you don't get it your first time try it again. I believe the game autosaves as you enter so just load the save :)

Is this one known to be buggy? Just got 7 in a row in the area you described and it didn't pop.

Dont know if anything affected it, as its been 11yrs since i wrote the solution, and there may have been additional details before TA server crashed numerous years ago and they lost 6months of backup data.
Draco - Wicelow listed inside the catherdral
Also - see you got the achievement - within 30mins of you posting the message :)

Alright, as I am typing this, I just got the Achievement to pop for me.

I was just reading about how I missed a great opportunity in the challenge rooms, and was on the look out for Duskbats. I'm standing right outside the "Twilight Cathedral" and conveniently enough, there were 5 Duskbats just flying around! Yay Me!

I got there attention, ran around in circles for a bit to get them all in one group nice and tight, and then used the same techniques described by my predecessors above about changing my view so that I could see the next Duskbat I wanted to target and then madly mash the A button so I new I was in the air, then madly mash the B button to force the game to target the Duskbat for an air take-down even if the HUD notification that I could do so was not yet displayed.

Worked for me, thought I would share with my fellow hunters!

That's where I got the achievement as well. I just want to point out for further clarification is that the location you mentioned, The Twilight Cathedral, is where you end the rail shooter section when you're riding the angelic beast for the Arial Predator achievement.

Just my two pence here on how I got this.

I also missed it in the Shadow Realm challenges, but I earnt this during the 'Twilight Cathedral'. Upon entering the cathedral, and watching the cutscene, you are faced with a very simple leap across some lava. The game will then focus on the thing hanging from the ceiling, and upon handing back control of War to you, Duskbats will start approaching.

Now, run toward the back of the room (toward a big statue inside a 'half cage'). There are 5 Duskbats that you need to wake, and then get them to follow you. Run as far as you can toward the statue, turn around and all 5 Duskbats should literally be on top of you. Begin the sequence as detailed in the other guides (jump, 'B', rotate camera, jump, 'B' etc.), and you cannot fail to get them all in a sequence as they are so close together.

I hope this helps.

Another effective spot for this, is in the tunnels before you get to The Dry Road.
At the area where you come to an Ice barrier, where the first Cronomancer stone is behind, there are 5 bats in the ceiling (and two undead on the ground, kill them off first).
Trick is to get over and smash the Ice barrier. You recently got Mercy, so give each of the bats that don't leave the ceiling a shot.
Run back into the shallow room with the Cronotrigger, and the bats will follow.
The room is so tight, that it's a piece of cake to jump from bat to bat.

This is a tip for people who missed the achievement on the first playthrough and it's the first place after starting a new game, where you can get the achievement.

Play untill you arrive at "Choking Grounds" the first time. Run forward, you see 2 duskbats on the left side. Run forward to the next tree, and you will see another bat. Now there are more trees and 2 more bats hanging at them. Let every bat notice you and if they follow you, go for the achievement.

Here's a tip that'll make your life a whole lot easier going for this achievement that I haven't seen on this site or any other.

You DO NOT have to jump from one bat to the next. All you have to do is hold the jump button as soon as the execution animation begins, and you will automatically begin flying to the next bat you've lined up as soon as that animation ends. You'll get the cheevo on your first try doing it this way. I took down eight in a row in the Choking Grounds challenge no problem.

MISSABLE

During the Choking Grounds section the Golem will ask you to break some seals in order to pass his gate. You will then enter several Shadow Arena's, one of which will be entitled "The Gory End", in which you are supposed to "Kill 30 enemies using only War's instant kill () within the time limit". The challenge will immediately begin with a scene of four Duskbats flying down. After the challenge actually starts save the game so you can repeat the arena if you struggle with the trophy.

Jump up and hit ,while holding your direction towards the next closest Duskbat. After killing the bat War will thrust himself from the previous Duskbat towards the next one.

When you are in the air hit  rapidly until you grapple the next Duskbat. Occasionally you will need to Shadowglide (hold ), to reach the next Duskbat.

Simply repeat the process until you see the trophy pop. If you don't unlock the trophy simply reload the game.

Here's a video of the trophy being done:

(credit to Kuddlesnot for the video)

It is possible to obtain this trophy when exiting the Twilight Cathedral as well. Up until now I had purposely left out this information due to the fact that it's easiest to do in the aforementioned location, and depending on when you visit the Cathedral there might be fewer than five bats. However, if by some chance you see five bats there and have not obtained the trophy, you can do the same trick there as well.

In the first shadow tests given by the stone giants, there will be a room with 5-6 bats, so we approach the mouse and click WAR will hang on the mouse, ripping open its belly, as soon as he does this, quickly press jump in the direction of the other mouse and press the button again .
5 such executions in a row and your achievement is that you can’t touch the ground, if anything happens, then we make a backup save and reboot.
