How to unlock the One Mean Mother achievement in Darksiders - Definitive Guide

Abyssal Chain (A.C) and either Sword or Scythe.
I liked using the scythe to get some range throws on her.
If i A.C'd close to her then i would use the swinging over head attack for a nice combo.

When you enter A.C her face and swing a few time.
She will then do a teleport thing, run around in wide circles around the room watching for her shadow.
If her shadow appears close to you or below you dash away quickly.
When she stops, A.C her face and swing a few more times.
Each time you A.C and slash she will get fast with the teleport and will sometimes charge, if she charges, dash and try and get a few hits in from the side.

Sometimes she get caught in a teleport frenzy where she doesnt seem to want to stop. You are going to have to try to hit her a few times even if it means costing you some health.

After a while she will cling to the ceiling and produce orbs, once these orbs float down a little and turn orange, quickly A.C them, and A.C her face.

Watch the cut scene and achievement is yours.

there is no shell on Silitha, you are probably on the mini-boss before hand the one with the ice crystals on his back.

This one is all about timing and patience if you ask me. Also, if you have the means to visit Vulgrim, try to upgrade the attack CHAINSAW as high as you possibly can before entering battle. Equiping WEAPON MASTER to the Chaoseater will also grant you a little extra damage. Try to hold LT as much as possible to always get a good look where Silitha is at all times.

Use the Abyssal Chain on Silitha when she is standing still. As War flies through the air towards Silitha, hold X to perform the CHAINSAW attack as War reaches Silitha. When you land on the ground, start moving backwards. As Silitha teleports above you, dash backwards. You are positioned right behind her, slash her in the back. When she teleports again, move a little forward, the backwards again. As Silitha teleports above you, dash backwards. You are once again positioned right behind her, slash her in the back. Rinse and repeat.

You will learn to identify the moves Silitha makes. If she is positioned towards you when she teleports, dash sideways instead and avoid her powerful attacks.

Keep moving around, try to keep some open space behind you to keep moving backwards. Use the Abyssal Chain when she is standing still and use CHAINSAW in her face.

When she sticks to the roof and releases the orbs, wait for them to turn orange (don't think you can target them before that) and pull yourself up to one. Aim the camera towards Silitha and use the Abyssal Chain again on here. The battle ends.

Best of luck, this was an annoying one!

I learned this tactic by adding a few things together by reading a lot of forum posts about this boss. Before, I must have died 8-9 times. After figuring this one out, it took me 1-2 tried to nail it.

Nice solution. Using LT to keep track of her while she teleports around the room really helps in identifying her patterns and recognizing when you're going to need to dash, and in which primary direction(s). Thanks!

Part of the regular story progression. No special work necessary. This is the fourth boss you will encounter.
- Refer to "Tip 3" if you are having difficulties with this boss.
