When creating a custom character you are able to choose your character's base power. There are many base power's to choose from and each power will tell you what role your character will be best suited for.
There are number of Defender powers (in this game the Defender powers indicate the Tank Role) to choose from but currently the only free Defender powers to select are Fire and Ice. I'm not sure if the other powers become available automatically when you pay for a membership but will update the solution if I hear one way or the other.
Upon reaching level 10 this achievement should unlock but there is a chance that the achievement will not unlock on time. If you hit level 10 and are not awarded with an achievement you will need to simply back out to the character select screen and then log back into the game, at this time the achievement should unlock instantly.
For the purpose of full disclosure, I have not yet attained this particular achievement but did earn the achievement for reaching level 10 for the healer role and this is what I experienced with that achievement and it should work here as well.
If there is anyway that I can make this solution better, please leave a comment.

At level 10 you should gain a feat and a title ar the same time as the achievement.

this trophy is self-explanatory. reach level 10 and unlock the Tank Role. but here's the kicker about this trophy and the Healer and Controller role trophies.
all three role based trophies are a little bugged so you don't get the ping until you log out and log back in on all three roles.

To get this achievement, you must reach level 10 and get the tank role. In order to do this, Fire or Ice (with The Battle for Earth DLC earth is also included for the element choices) must be your power set, which you choose when you create your character. To unlock this achievement, make sure you choose Fire or Ice as your starting power during character creation. If you bought a membership, you could also choose Earth, Rage, or Atomic. Then simply progress to Level 10.
