There are 2 ways to escape the map on Dead by Daylight. The first and most obvious is to turn on 5 generators and escape through one of the two doors.
Secondly and the the one that we want is the Hatch. The Hatch will only open if you are the last survivor on the playing field and have at least 2 generators repaired. That means 3 people can escape and you can leave through the Hatch. It will open automatically if these criteria have been met.

As an addendum. The hatch only spawns if the number of generators completed is greater then the number of Survivors remaining. So don't bother looking early if this criteria is not met.
