Use Quentin Smith and equip the following perks, Pharmacy (Quentin Perk) which allows you to search chests 40/60/80% faster and Use the perk Plunderer's Instinct which allows you to see chest within 16/24/32 meters. Do you need to own the DLC? Because my achievement tracker isn't counting any chests I search. Or the opening exit gates one either.

I have all the chapter but 5 and I bought all the characters- should buy the chapters again for the maps or do I not get the maps!

For this to make it easier on you, run plunderer's instinct and/or detectives hunch. You can also bring a key with the add ons to unlock the aurora reading abilities, however I find the perks to be much more effective.

Any survivor can earn this. All you need to do is finish looting 100 chests to earn this trophy. The Trophy will pop after you have finished looting your 100th chest. This trophy can be earned even if you do not own this DLC.

Survivors can burn offerings to increase the amount of chests that spawn, but killers have a similar offering that remove chests. The time it takes to search a chest is cumulative so if someone stopped searching for any reason, the progress on that chest is not lost.
