How to unlock the Not Today achievement in Dead by Daylight - Definitive Guide
What I have written below may seem a little convoluted but I assure you this isn't that hard and I'm just trying to give as much information as possible to ensure you can earn progress for this as smoothly as possible.
Adam the new survivor has a new perk called Deliverance. If you purchase him via real money or the in-game money, he will automatically have it unlocked at level 1.
With the perk Deliverance after unhooking another survivor from a killer hook, if they don't get downed again within roughly fifteen seconds or so, then this perk will activate. Once activate if you get hooked, you have a "100%" chance of getting off with one of the three struggles. I put 100% in quotes because either the developers of this game understand what that means differently from the rest of us or the chance to escape off the hook is actually higher than 100% as I had the perk activated and couldn't struggle off a few times in my 70+ matches I had to play to grind this out. No real reason to upgrade this perk as it doesn't increase your chances for unhooking, just the amount of time after you unhook yourself till you can be healed as it puts you in the unhealable "Broken state".
That's not the only issue you will encounter, some times other player survivors will pull you off before you can get yourself off. If this happens you are denied any progress for that round as the next time you get hooked you will not be able to get yourself off of it.
Last issue you'll run into is if the killer hooks you before any other player. Without the perk your odds are pretty bad, I feel you have about a one in ten chance if you don't have any luck based offerings activated at he start of the match. You might as well struggle though to see if you're real life lucky enough, worse case scenario just let yourself die so you can get into another match quicker to continue going for this. To avoid being hooked first I suggest you always bring a Med-Kit with you to every match. I got lucky and got Claudette's Self-Care perk in my Adam's Bloodweb, so if I ever gt damaged I would lose the killer and then heal up so I could go back to waiting for someone else to get hooked. It's important to be fully healed as you can run towards someone that is hooked, let the killer hit you so you can save them and then they'll hopefully hit you again and then try to hook you so the other survivor will get away and your perk should activate right as the killer throws you on the hook.
If you do manage to get yourself off the hook, 2% progress on your achievement tracker should immediately pop up and whatever happens in the match no longer matters.
If you don't have this other achievement already though I advise trying your best to escape from the match after unhooking yourself:
Another thing you can do if you already have that is quit the match immeidately after you unhook yourself although I would advise against that as by the time you get someone else unhooked and get hooked yourself, the match should be half way done. So you should stick around for the Bloodpoints.
Make sure you don't go for this when you're the only person alive either. I forgot and let a killer hook me after the other three players escaped and the Entity just kills you instantly regardless if you've not been hooked before.
If you don't have the character you could always save up for him or wait for his teachable to appear in the shrine but then you'll have to hope you get lucky enough for it to appear in one of your characters Bloodwebs.

Good guide. I wanted this out of the way quickly, since focusing on the grind was throwing my game off. I unlocked Deliverance on the bloodweb, but I'm not really sure I'll rely on it too much. To me its more of a novelty perk, I'll just stick with Adrenaline...
My down & dirty plan was just to enter the trial and stick to the perimeters. Do nothing objective-wise, and wait for the first survivor to go down. Make a bee-line to them and when safe go for the unhook. As you said, this worked most of the time. When it didn't, it was the same mix of frustration & hilarity that keeps us coming back to this game ;)

they had some bugs with the perk at first, but I am pretty sure you get off first attempt every-time now. So as long as the perk is highlighted you are good to go. I couldn't quite follow your wording explaining why you put 100% in quotes. But other than that good guide

Okay the other guide for this achievement is by far the most efficient way to get it but if you are tight for real life money or iri shards then there is one other way that will give you a good chance at escaping without having to buy any characters or perks, first you want to play the survivor Ace he is a Free survivor you get immediately upon starting the game, you want to level him up until you get the perk "Up The Ante" to max level what this perk does is give you extra luck for every other survivor still alive, luck increases your chances of unhooking yourself, the other perk you will want to have is Slippery Meat this perk gives you an extra 3 chances to escape and gives you more of a chance to escape but not by much, next you will want to collect any luck offerings in the blood web the best one you want to look out for is "Vigo's Salty Lips" if you have friends then they can also bring luck offerings to make this stack. Differently from the other guide you will most likely want to be the first or second one hooked as the more of a chance your teammates die the less luck you will have as "Up The Ante" will lose tokens. One more thing to note even with all of this you ARE NOT guaranteed to get yourself off the hook your odds are just increased to roughly 16-20% depending on the amount of luck offerings, the other guide is much easier but this is for the people not interested in buying Adam or his perk. Happy Hunting!
This trophy can be earned by any survivor, but was designed with Adam Francis' new perk "Deliverance" in mind. When placed on a hook for the first time, you have the option of trying to struggle off of it yourself without another survivor's help. You must do this 50 times. Since you can only escape a hook from the first hook phase, this will take a minimum of 50 matches. The trophy will pop after your 50th hook escape. You can unlock this trophy even if you don't own the DLC.
When hooked for the first time, you have 60 seconds to hang there and wait to be saved by another survivor. In this time, you have the option of trying to pull yourself off the hook. Normally there's only a 4% success rate, and the cost of attempting it is about 20 seconds shaved off your time. This gives you 2-3 attempts before you reach phase two on the hook where you have to struggle to stay alive, and can no longer attempt to free yourself.
With the new Adam Francis per "Deliverance", if you safely rescue a survivor from a hook, you have a 100% chance of unhooking yourself from your first hook at the cost of being inflicted with the Broken status effect. This is the most efficient way to grind these unhooks. Without this perk the only other thing you can do is raise your luck with offerings and Ace's perk "Up the Anti" to raise the chances of escaping the hook, and the Basic perk "Slippery Meat" which grants extra escape attempts. You need to unhook yourself 50 times. The character Adam Francis (purchased either in the add-on or for in-game currency) has the Deliverance perk, which allows you to remove yourself from the hook with 100% probability - to do this, you need to remove another survivor from the hook so that he is not within 10 seconds after removal wounded again, then we boldly take the hook ourselves. I advise you to combine this perk with the Borrowed time perk - the survivor you remove from the hook will have 15 seconds of invulnerability at the first level of the perk.
If you do not have the opportunity to purchase Adam Francis, then the general perk "Slippery Meat" will help you; it gives additional attempts to remove from the hook (1 level - 1 additional attempt, 2-2, 3-3). The initial chance of removal is 4%. It can be increased by the luck indicator (luck), for this there are offers for luck - bags of chalk and salt, and Ace Visconti's perk "Up the Ante" also increases luck.
