You can get this before you even enter the Mall.
When you've been dropped off by the helicopter, walk to the RIGHT side of the rooftop mall entrance, against which the first survivor you meet is leaning. Climb up the barrels, climb up onto the roof above the doorway, and finally onto the white air conditioning box.
Jump off.
Works on the original version too, on Xbox 360. In both games, this was the first achievement I unlocked.

Very simple achievement and you will get it eventually one way or another.
It popped for me at the entrance of the mall (the moment where people are barricading the doors and a whole bunch of people is bunched together.
Just climb the stairs to the next floor.
Jump down. Achievement pops.

Alternatively: climb up the scaffolding in the storage room (when coming out of the elevator at the start) and jump of .... achievement unlocked :)

When you first enter the mall properly after being sent to find Brad, go up the stairs on your right.
On your left will be a bakery restaurant, with some big window openings. Below the far left one is an awning with a katana on it. Jump through the opening, and then jump off of the awning. It will be high enough for the cheev to ping.

Jump from the second floor to the first floor in any part of the mall. You don’t get hurt too badly and you’ll get the achievement.
