To obtain this achievement you need to get to day thee of 72 hours mode, if you have not made it to 72 hour mode and have not finished the game do not read this solution as it contains spoilers.

Okay guys there are a few things you need to know about this achievement.

1.) You do not need to stock up on machine guns. However, the more you have the better.

2.) You are shooting at the rear of the helicopter, specifically the tail rotor.

3.) It only takes one small burst of machine gun rounds placed near the tail rotor to take it out.

All these people shooting directly at the helicopter when it is coming at them are respectfully wasting their time. Just aim for the tail rotor and you can easily take it out. Also try to save before you attempt this. Better yet try to save often after the Special Forces arrive all together.

When the helicopter turns and faces you but does not immediately come forward start moving! it will fire rockets that can do more damage than anything else in this game.

Just got this Using the Real Mega man Buster and some luck. ( kill 53,594 zombies and beat the game to unlock real mega busters)

if you have already beat the story before and unlocked overtime mode, you dont need to start a new 72 hour game mode you can get this in overtime mode, approach the clock tower in the middle of leisure park to see a cutscene and then the helicopter spawns.

i jumped on top of the roof of the picnic area between paradise and north plaza and kept shooting my buster until i finally hit it ( took one shot to kill it i believe but a lot of fast aiming and luck involved)

After trying the other guides with machine guns or the real mega blaster, I was only able to get it using a sniper rifle. Works the easiest and I only used 22 shots of the sniper trying. Stand on the picnic table.
