How to unlock the Fully Loaded achievement in Dead Space 2 - Definitive Guide

Credit goes to jpric18 from X360A for finding this.

How to get unlimited power nodes

This was done on normal difficulty and the room that replenishes the items requires a power node for access.

The Save Station is located on Chapter 14 after the anti-gravity section. Shortly after sticking your eye with needle, you'll be chased by the necromorph that doesn't die. You'll eventually reach the anti-gravity section. After you pass the anti gravity section, you go through two doors and on your right will be a door requiring a power node for access. This is room that replenishing the items. You'll find the Save Station two more doors if you head left from that T intersection.

Steps (read description above to locate starting point):
1. Unlock the door with a power node. Title above door: 6: Secure Storage, Power Node Access Only
2. Advance through two more doors to reach a Store, Bench, and Save Station.
3. Save at Save Station after the anti-gravity section on Chapter 14.
4. Quit to main menu, then press continue
5. Back track to the anti-gravity area (most of time you can go directly to the room). Once you get back to the anti-gravity area, go back through the last two doors and go into the room on your right. This is the room that required a power node to open. Inside this room is where I find either 2 power nodes, 1 ruby semiconductor, and/or 3k credit.
6. Go back to Save Station and save the game.
7. Repeat steps 4-6

NOTE: if you start finding only credits in the room, try going all the way back to the switch in the antigravity area, then go to the room. Doing this has reset the 2 power nodes for me.

I'm guessing the legit way to do this would be to start New Game + since you keep all your gear/upgrades.

I can also confirm that reloading the checkpoint after saving works and is a real time saver especially if you are wanting to do this glitch on your first try and are itching to know what happens next :P

This was looking like it was going to take quite a few runs for me, so i'll point out the obvious,

Nodes can be bought for 10k , so it's worth checking the store and selling off everything bar the 4 guns to see how much cash you can raise to buy nodes obviously you wont be saving this but from what was in my inventory I got 200k = 20 nodes, now that could save you 10 runs!!!!!!!!

Goes without saying wait till then end to do this as you don't want to sell all your gear and end up losing it by saving.

Just to let everyone know, the said 4 guns don't have to be equipped. On my NG+ on Zealot I only carried the plasma cutter (which was maxed) and the force gun, but I also had 2 weapons from my first round that I had maxed in storage. As soon as I maxed the force gun, the cheev popped even though I only had 2 equipped.

It does not work within just any other locations, or rooms that are unlocked via Power Node.

I opened this room and all i got was a small med med pack and ammo. There were no nodes. Is it required to play Ignition for this glitch? That should be mentioned in your solution...

Don't know if this happened with everyone, but I was finding that my inventory was being credited with a ruby semi conductor too. (worth 10k sale price - an extra node!). This happened even though there wasn't a physical semi conductor in the room.

Still works as of 8/17/12.

A side note: The vintage suit allows a 10% discount on store items. In essence, power nodes will cost 9,000 instead of 10,000. That may not be a lot, but it adds up with the number of times you have to reload and go to the room.

Still works 12.6.12.

Couple things: I earned about 1 node per minute on average using this method. It takes about 2 minutes to do the full cycle (including loading a new game), but i'd say about 70% of the time the room is stocked with 2 nodes and a ruby semiconductor (a net of 3 nodes if you sell the Ruby). Sometimes you get shafted with either 1 node or even worse -- $3,000.

Not sure if anyone still reads this, but I think I found what decides whether you get one node or two nodes and the conductor. Every time I accessed to workbench, on the next reload there would only be one node in the room. The reload after that, two nodes and conductor. I tested it multiple times and it stayed true every time.

Instead of quitting to the menu and reloading, I found that you can just save and then reload checkpoint. Saves quite a bit of time.

For me when I tried reloading the checkpoint I would go back to the door and it would act like it was opening (the logo on the door would spin) but the door would not actually open. However, I can confirm that the above method works as of 2/1/2011

This glitch also worked for the Power Node door in Chapter 7 just after you complete the Computer Mainframe. The room does not have power nodes, but does have a semiconductor, credits and a medium health pack which all respawn each time. Open the door, collect the items and then save at save point right outside the door. Simply reload checkpoint. Note: If the room does not have semiconductor, run back through the hallway you came through to get to this point. Run until you get to the locked door and run back. Then, save and reload checkpoint. This will respawn everything. Have fun. Got over 50,000 credits worth of semiconductors until I got bored. LOL.

By my count, the weapons that will cost the fewest nodes are:

Plasma Cutter (I maxed the Refurbished one out with 18 nodes)
Detonator (20 nodes)
Pulse rifle (22 nodes)
Ripper (also 22 nodes)

The flamethrower, line gun, and Javelin gun all require 24 nodes, and the Force gun needs 25. I didn't have the Contact Beam or the Seeker on me when I was checking how many nodes are required, but the ones I listed above were fairly easy for me to max out before Chapter 10 on a Casual playthrough.

Yeh - just remember that you don't have to fill in all the holes with nodes if it doesn't achieve anything. The aim is to max out the weapon stats, & certain weapons you can max out without filling in some of the blank ones.

I just started my first save game +, I've just started chapter 3 and am about 2 nodes shy of upgrading my 4th weapon (detonator). Going to do contact beam next (for a harder playthrough).

If you are just trying for the achievement real quick like. Just save the game then go to the bench and press (Y) to re-use any nodes you may have put into your rig or stasis module for a cost of 5k credits. Allocate those nodes to the 4 guns listed above. Achivement pops and just quit out and re-load your save file.

I've found that if you equip the 'elite vintage' suit it gives you 15% discount.
So instead of nodes being 10,000 they now cost 8,500
It's not a great deal better but it does help.
Just use your favourite suit until you want to buy nodes and then change into the elite vintage suit and purchase your nodes.

Also selling other ammo etc will help increase your credits so you can buy more nodes.
I used this method to get these achievements:
- fully outfitted
- picking favourites

Hope this helps someone

Similiar to the other solution:

Chapter 7 (shortly after the elevator-ride) has a node-room literally next to a savestation. You can enter, get the stuff, save and reload checkpoint for infinite items.

May not be as efficient but if you wanna give yourself an "early" boost it's there.

To unlock the trophy, you simply need to have upgraded all stats of 4 weapons. You DON'T need to fill in every slot, just make sure that the slots that have effects are filled. I highly recommend you upgrade the Plasma Cutter and Contact Beam first, as they are absolutely crucial for Zealot and Hardcore difficulties.

You can exploit a glitch found by jpric18 of X360A which allows you to pickup unlimited Power Node to save yourself from an extra playthrough just for this trophy, see HERE.

In order to upgrade your RIG, stasis and four weapons, you are going to need a total of 82 power nodes, which can be found in the game world (light purple glow), in blue and yellow containers on the wall, or as a reward in certain fights (such as Brutes and chapter bosses). Power nodes can also be purchased from the store for 10,000 credits each. To upgrade your items, you will need to find a work bench. Once at the work bench, you must fully upgrade your RIG and stasis for Fully Outfitted and four weapons, which then must be carried at the same time, for Fully Loaded. Each upgrade costs one power node and you must fill in every colored space with a power node in order for the achievements to unlock. For the Stasis and RIG that will mean every node and there are none you can skip. However, for the weapons you can usually skip 2 - 3 blank slots on each.

It will take a total of 30 power nodes to upgrade your Stasis and RIG for Fully Outfitted (12 nodes for Stasis and 18 nodes for RIG). Once you get this achievement you can respec each for 5,000 credits and get the 30 nodes back to use for your weapons. After respec-ing, you will need an additional 52 nodes. Depending on what weapons you are upgrading will determine the number of power nodes needed, but the cheapest 4 weapons require a total of 82 power nodes (Plasma Cutter 18, Detonator 20, Ripper 22 & Pulse Rifle 22). If you sell everything but these 4 guns you can get this on your first playthrough. You can just as easily use the power node glitch found HERE. Thanks to jpric18 for the video and for finding this glitch.

On the video link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KodJ...feature=relmfu

a glitch is presented in chapter 14, where you can get an almost unlimited number of nodes by saving and loading the game, as well as replenish the balance of credits for purchases in the store. This glitch will also help you get the achievements The Electrician, Fully Outfitted and Picking Favorites faster.

I recommend using the glitch during the first playthrough, so that when you repeat you will have fully upgraded weapons, stasis and suit

In this glitch, you don’t have to go to the main menu every time, you just need to save, pause and checkpoint. At first there were no nodes in this room at all; they appeared only after saving and rebooting. Sometimes only one node or 3000 credits may appear.

It is also not necessary to clog up with new saves; you can save to the same slot.

The fastest way to upgrade the following 4 types of weapons is that they require the least amount of power modules in total.

1 - PLASMA CUTTER - Requires 21 power units to be fully upgraded

2 - DETONATOR - Requires 20 power nodes to fully upgrade

3 - PULSE RIFLE - Requires 24 power nodes to fully upgrade

4 - RIPPER - Requires 26 power nodes to fully upgrade

Total: 91 power modules will be needed at a time.

Just upgrade 4 guns on the same difficulty level. You'll pick it up on your second playthrough.
