How to unlock the Veteran achievement in Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos - Definitive Guide

I used the crew of Neal(retrieving), Lenny(Sorting & Repair), Freddy (Unloading & Sorting), Lynn & Jonathan(Setting & retrieving when Neal was tired).

The most import thing when you are going to be playing is to try and get bonuses. It is important to fish in areas that are ½ crab and above but the stringing together bonuses is where you will get the extra cash you will need.
Setting: Try and get 10 pots set in a row and you will get at least 10k bonus .
Retrieving: This mode is the least bonus giving. You will need to get around 20 in a row to get over a 10k bonus.
Sorting: This is a high bonus mode. Try to get around 16 or better which is not to hard to do with a person 4 bars or more. You can get a bonus in excess of 20k if you do it right. Easiest to get bonus in Opilio season. Try and get the crabs that are the least off the table then go to town on the ones left. Always save two crabs at the end to help and extend the bonus while the new pot is dropping.
Unloading: Always do unloading with a crew member that has at least 4 bars or better and is rested with none of the bars missing. Avoid the crane and get 30 or more and the bonus is high. I think my highest bonus with a streak of 85 at one point was over 80k.

For the scenario I just bough the best of the boat I could afford and fished the first 3 seasons. I think at the end of 3 I had over 2 million. I just rested through seasons 4 & 5. I bought the best boat I could for season 6 and did my best to get the highest bonuses while trying to fish in good spots. Don’t be afraid to move. Save at the start of the season. This is not a hard campaign just a long one.

The Full Career campaign consists of a total of 6 fishing seasons. The campaign is completed, and trophy earned, by making over $1,500,000 in the LAST season. Remember to save prior to the last (sixth) season for shorter replay if necessary. I suggest getting at least a 100 pot size boat that is fast and reliable. The money to buy a better boat can be earned by working the first season (and part of the second) as usual. The choice of boats that works best is one like the Daredevil at a cost of $1,800,000. Different boats are available for sale in each season (randomly) but once you buy a boat you carry it over to following seasons. The clock can be advanced (Cabin > Rest) to quickly finish after acquiring the necessary money. Remember to use mentioned strategy and save along the way. Avoid where others are fishing and hit the known high crab areas repeatedly. The seasons will switch between King Crab and Opilio with the season lengths progressing from 8 days, to 12, to 14, to 10, to 12, to lastly 12 days (Opilio Crab) for the final season.

A full career contains 6 seasons. The campaign will be completed and the trophy received upon receiving 1.5 million upon completion of the last season. Upgrade your traps to 100 crabs. You can collect money to buy the best boat during the 1st season and the beginning of the 2nd. The best boat is Daredevil, it costs 1.8 million. Don’t fish where others fish. Seasons vary in time, from 8 days, to 12, to 14, to 10, to 12, to the last 12.
