How to unlock the A Head of the Competition achievement in Deadliest Warrior: The Game - Definitive Guide
You can keep track of you're achievements with the help and options menu at the main menu. Then go to combat statistics.
Use the samuri, weaken the enemy so much and then use the finisher move (X and A together) when opponent is at critical health. You must watch the whole scene or the decapitation will not count. If you watch the whole scene then this is a 100% chance of a decapitations.
I would also recommend getting That Was Sparta! achievement at the same time, just put the 2nd controller as a spartan and keep decapitating them.
But if you dont want to boost this, the the pirates X,X,X sometimes gets decapitations.
You need patience for this achievement, it will take a while
NOTE: Pair this with the 300 Spartan kills
First, go into Help & Options and change the settings to 30 seconds, 1 round, Normal difficulty.Go into local multiplayer, and have your profile pick the samurai, and the 2nd controller pick Spartan. Once the match starts, turbo the 'A' and 'Y'. That's it. Leave it on all night, wake up to 2 new achievements.
Also, I've found that this works best against armored opponents. It usually just knocks the Apache and Ninja back. It is especially useful against the Spartan if you wanna combine this with the That Was Sparta cheevo.
1000 kills as Rajput:
300 Spartan kills:
I would also like to note that there's a great chance that you will never get the tournament achievement without boosting. So if you're boosting the tournament, just have all the players losing on purpose play as Spartan and the player winning the tournament use Rajput and combine with all these achievements. Therefore... slowly, but eventually 10 tournament wins:
1) Play local multiplayer, you as Rajput, opponent as Shaolin Monk
2) Throw 2 chakrams. This will harm your opponent enough that two hits should kill it.
3) Run to your enemy, then hit Y and Y when you're up close.
I did best 3 out of 5. The decapitation only seemed to happen the very first round, when the chakrams would throw at a higher arc and land near the monk's neck. But 1 out of three was decent enough while going towards the 1K kills needed for the Rajput title. You can probably do with just best 1 out of 1 if you are hurrying for this one.
There are a few different ways that are most effective for decapitating an enemy. The easiest I have found so far is to use the Spartan equiped with the default sword, run instantly up to the enemy and press , which will make a strike to your opponent's neck. Press until the enemy either dies, or loses his head. Don't continue the combo by pressing again, that may hinder the decapitation. Press it once, then wait and press it again. Another easy way is to use the Pirate, weaken the enemy, then throw a bomb with and at the same time. This will almost always decapitate the enemy.
A few general tips:
- Fight against an enemy with little to no armor. This makes the Apache the perfect target for decapitations.
- Play against yourself. Go into a local match and turn on a second controller, and have the other warrior just sit there while you attempt to decapitate him. Each match has 2 rounds, and after them, simply hit rematch.
This trophy will take a while, but it is by no means difficult. You will probably get a few of these in your time spent in Single Player, but you most likely won't get even nearly 100, so this will take a little bit of grinding.
You can check your progress on this on the statistics page via Options-->Battle Statistics.
