I advise you to complete the mission through a rocket, this will give you an additional + 5000 points.
Running for 40 days and exiting through a rocket gave me a total of ~17,000 points.

Honestly, I can’t tell you, because I did it on the first try.
It seems to me, based on the description, you just need to have 10,000 points at the end of the daily challenge, not necessarily for the first attempt.
