Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

This achievement is unlocked when you complete the first Darknet file in Breach Mode. The first opportunity to work on a Darknet file and complete it for the achievement is in the Tier 1A Network after completing a couple of regular servers.

You are not required to clear the Darknet file servers to unlock the Data Disciple achievement for completing all Versalife, Steiner-Bisley & Tarvos servers in the Tier 1 Network. Thus, the first available Darknet File, Just What the Doctor Ordered, need not be the one you complete for the achievement. Nevertheless, it is the easiest Darknet file and is the only one in Tier 1 for those who want to pop the achievement at the earliest opportunity.

Below, is a complete video guide with commentary for the Data Detective achievement in two parts. It starts upon entry into Network 1A. So, the only assumption it makes is that the tutorial has been completed. The only augment used is the double jump which is acquired automatically as part of the tutorial. The primary weapon used is the C Class Pistol given by Shadowchild during the tutorial. A single shot from a Class B stun rifle is used during the final Prime or Boss fight to incapacitate the boss before taking it out with the Class C Pistol. The first part of the guide deals with getting to and clearing the DF1 and DF2 Darknet servers:


The second part of the video guide shows how to get to and clear the DF3 and DF4 Darknet servers. The achievement pops after the Picus broadcast that airs once DF4 is cleared:


In addition to providing a full detailed solution to this achievement, the tactics used to clear the servers are applicable to the Data Disciple, Expert, and Master Achievements. They emphasize finishing close to the entry point so you can exit effortlessly and avoiding contact or combat unless the server objective is to kill enemies. Moreover, they demonstrate that S class weaponry is not required and that players need not spend their hard earned real cash on micro-transactions.

This achievement is available in the Breach game mode.

The first Darknet File you unlock is 'Just What the Doctor Ordered'. It will become avaliable after completing your second server in the Tier 1 network. This file involves finding out the truth behind the sudden death of Lindsey Thompson, a little girl undergoing experimental VersaLife treatment.

To start this file, you must read the Darknet File details in the Darknet tab.

You then need to collect 10 data fragments in the server \DF1_Cortex to get the next clue, the autopsy report. After examining the report, you'll have a chat with Shorthand. When the chat is over, you need to collect 14 data fragments in server \DF2_Cortex.

You'll get Lindsey's medical history, which you'll need to examine. You'll then have another chat wth Shorthand, where you'll need to pay 10000 credits in order to proceed. You should have more than enough credits to continue, but if not, complete a few new servers to get the credits you need.

When that chat is done, extract 10 TB data from server \DF3_Cortex to get your next clue. Speak with ShadowChild to un-corrupt the recieved e-mail and view it. Then, speak with Watchstan68 to set up a rescue attempt.

You'll need to defeat the unit in server \DF4_Cortex to proceed. This unit has various augmentations, such as cloaking and the Icarus Dash and wields a sniper rifle and EMP grenades. This unit is fairly weak against Pistol damage, so use your pisol to kill him. A very useful augmentation to have here is the Focus augmentation, which will enhance your reactions and therefore makes it feel like time is slowing down. With this aug, you'll be able to land headshots quite fast on him and thus complete it fast.

When you've completed \DF4_Cortex, you'll need to have another chat with Watchstan. When the chat is over, the file is officially completed and you will recieve this achievement and a Darknet booster pack.
