How to unlock the Ground Mail Was a Better Option achievement in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Definitive Guide

You need to have the Remote Hacking augmentation upgraded to level 2 for this achievement. When you have that, you can simply hack any of the ubiquitous flying police drones in Prague. When you look at a drone there should be a prompt for you to press cn_X to initiate a hack. There are 3 zones you have to land your cursor on while hacking a drone. You must press cn_X while the cursor is in each zone, without making any errors. When the third hacking zone is successfully completed, the drone will crash and the achievement will unlock. Be aware that if any police see you hacking a drone they will turn hostile. I recommend doing the hack from cover so you don't trigger an alert.

I've found a better place to do it - in the sewers near where you pick up the "Cult of Personality" quest there's a couple of drones patrolling behind some L2 locked gates. They're not police owned so no chance of upsetting cops.

please note: it has to be your 1st attempt (like straight after a save) and you CAN use the Focus augment to slow down the moving cursor. The police drone out front of Adams apartment block in ch 3 only needs 2 successful hits for the achievement

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Achievement/Trophy Guide - Ground Mail Was Always Better.

This achievement/trophy can be earned straight after completing mission 3 and getting your augments back. You must fully upgrade your Remote Hacking augment and flawlessly hack a police drone. The easiest place to find a drone is outside Jenson's apartment.

Here is a video showing how to do it easily.

This achievement can be earned at any time during your playthrough after Mission 3. There are a number of non-hostile drones around Jensen's apartment complex where this can be done with ease.

You will need to unlock and full upgrade the "Remote Hacking" augmentation.

Once you've spotted a drone, simply aim your reticle at the flying machine and tap to hack it. A firewall will appear on the screen, with a slider that moves left and right. There are usually two or three "marks" that you will need to tap on when the slider lines up perfectly. If you mess up, you need to back out of the hacking screen and try again. Once you flawlessly hack the drone, it will power down for a short time and the achievement will unlock.

This requires you to flawlessly disable a Drone via Remote Hacking, which also grants you the Flawless XP bonus. Remote Hacking is one of Adam's new Experimental Augmentations that enables him to hack electronic devices from a distance. In order to hack Drones, you have to fully upgrade the Remote Hacking Augmentation so you can get the Security Domination upgrade. This allows Adam to temporarily disable robots, turrets, and security cameras from a distance.

Once you're able to upgrade Adam after completing Mission 3: Getting In Top Shape Again, you can attempt to do this trophy at any time. The best place is in Prague: Street Level, nearby Adam's Apartment is a Drone hovering in the air next to nearby cops. Make a manual save just in case you mess up the hack or want to save your Praxis Kits on something else. Full upgrade the Remote Hacking Augmentation and press to disable the Security Drone. What happens during the Firewall hacking is that you need to press to breach the Drone’s firewall when line is over the the big wavy wavelengths. You need to hit these wavelength frequencies perfectly in order flawlessly hack the Security Drone. If you miss a wavelength you will not get the trophy and it should be noted that you only have a time limit of 10 seconds to complete the Firewall hack. If you do mess up, simply reload your last save you made before attempting this trophy. After successfully hacking your first Drone the trophy will unlock.

The trophy can be obtained after completing the 3rd mission, new augmentations will open.

Make a save first so you can then select other augmentations for other trophies.

We upgrade the “Remote Hacking” branch and go to the flying drone. Click . To hack it perfectly, you need to press again 2 or 3 times . If you never made a mistake, you will receive a trophy.

The most important point that was not written about is to hack the drone when the red bar for the end of the hacking time appears.

You have to crack it on the first try, without making a mistake, otherwise you won’t get the trophy.
