How to unlock the "I really ate the whole thing!” achievement in Diner Dash - Definitive Guide

This one is a bit tricky, but it's doable (and somewhat broken if you know how to play it right).

As the achievement states, you need to get expert scores on all levels. So the emphasis here is to get the colour combo and chaining done right.

Tip: Know your shortcut keys!
X takes you to the ticket station
Y takes you to the counter
B takes you to the Bus station

Flo will go there automatically and you won't have to maneuver yourself through the tables and get stuck costing you valuable time.

The first level should be straight forward enough, just make sure that the customers are seated on their coloured chair. The higher the multiplier, the better...
This gets trickier as you progress through each level. This is where the podium comes into play.

Here's a technique that is working for me so far, it's not the most elegant, but as long as it does the trick, I'm not going to complain...
First, stand in front of the podium until you have enough customers waiting. As long as you don't move, you should continually fill their heart meters and they won't walk off. Once you have enough customers to fill all the tables, seat them AFTER the podium goes off and refills some of their hearts.
Take their orders as they come in, two at a time if possible. Hit X and repeat until all orders are taken.
Keep an eye out on customers waiting in line. Once they reach about four hearts left, go to the podium (3 might be pushing it, 2 hearts, you're screwed). Customers sitting at the tables are a little more patient than the customers waiting in line it seems.
Once the customers in line are relatively happy again, go to the counter and start serving all the food to all tables, take two, serve two, hit Y. Rinse and repeat until all tables are served. The extra appetizers/bread is optional but they will break your chaining combo and is only worth 100 points, but not giving this to your guests will drop their hearts.
Alternate between giving the bill out to guests who are done and standing by the podium. Once all the guests are gone, then stand by the podium again to boost your guests back to above half their heart meter. Then clean out the tables (pick up two tables, hit B).
When all the tables are cleared, stand by the podium one more time and get their hearts back to full if possible. Then seat the guests to maximize the colour matching for additional points.

Yes, this is a long winded way of getting the achievement, but it's better to do it right the first time than to have to repeat a stage. Don't worry about closing time. Even if the doors are closed, there will still be a steady set of guests who you don't see that are still lined up.

Taking things slowly will guarantee that you'll get enough points to hit expert at all stages even with a few frustrated guests leaving (that will cost you -500 points per table).

Hope this helps, if you need help, just comment and I'll try to answer all questions.
Good luck!

If you must break a combo don't let it be your cheque combo since there 50 per and rack up nicely compared to the 20per on orders and food

Hi Elod II, I will double check the number of points you lose, but I think for World 4, you only lose 500 points per table and the "Secret" level is the one where you get dinged 2000 points if the customers leave.

Here's a video guide for Level 9 of Area 1 if it's giving anyone trouble.

The key to hitting the expert scores are combos. Combos are achieved by repeating actions, for example: If you take an order then immediately take someone else's order you will receive a 2X combo. Now if you take a third order immediately after that, you will receive a 3X combo. Anytime you interrupt an action by doing something else, your combo will be broken. You will also gain extra points by seating people in the seat that matches the colour of their outfit. On a side note you can hit to rotate the patrons while you are seating them so that you can match them up with the proper colour seat in the booth.

What I would do is start out by seating everyone first, if possible try to fill all the seats, because this will increase the maximum combo possible. Now take everybody's order and after everyone's order is taken, serve the food to everybody and once they have all eaten give them all their bills. Finally, once they have, left clean all the tables. On the later levels you must be quick but you will receive a podium, which I personally thought made the game easier. When you stand next to the podium for a few seconds you will grant everyone waiting in line 3 extra hearts. Here's how I did it: I seated everyone and as they looked over the menu I stood next to the podium until everyone in line received their hearts, then go back and take everybody's order and serve their food. After serving everyone I stood next to the podium again, then handed out bills, followed by cleaning the tables. This ensured I could keep working on my combos with the seated guests without losing anyone who stood in line too long. Losing customers is by far the most harmful thing you can do so always watch their hearts and adjust as necessary to avoid losing hearts. Once a patron loses all of their hearts they will leave thus resulting in negative score. Remember, standing at the podium does not count as an action, thus it will not break your combos, so use it whenever you see fit.

As you progress to the third and fourth restaurant you will have to start serving out all you can eat items. I didn’t worry about these requests too much if its was going to break my combos or bring me away from the podium. With these tips in mind you shouldn't have too much trouble, for the most part I was able to obtain the expert score on my first try and if I didn't, I quit the game and replayed the level. The levels seem to be set up pretty similar if not exactly the same when you replay them.

Thanks to lade73 for showing me the way of the combos.
