Probably there are some new guys or old school rusty.
You can use the save feature any time, but just in case you need more help, you can set up a game for 2 players local using the "2 PLAYER MODE B" and kill your partner. Everytime you kill him, you will gain one more live. So you can start game with 7+ lives instead of 3.
