How to unlock the Demonslayer achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition - Definitive Guide

You can get this one just by playing the game and doing all the side quests and main missions but if you don't want to do that and still want this achievement to pop up on your screen I know a way to have a stream of demon appear to help you get this one. What you have to do is go to the hissing wastes and go to one of the tomb in which you have to lite 4 torches in order to open a door.(There are 4 of these on the map and any of them will work) Instead of opening the door just pick the wrong torch every time and 4 demons will be spawned and you can kill them and light the torch again and 4 more will spawn.

Note: This does not work if you (like me) have already solved the puzzles. I'm missing about 20 demon kills and I am running out of places to find them.

The solution recommended above is for players who have Rifts still available and have not completed Hissing Waste. For those who are at the end, like I was, and was only 98% complete with Demonslayer (Xbox One) the solutions is not applicable. The solutions. A demon kill is cumulative, so regardless if you kill a demon at the beginning of the game or at the end it will count. In fact it will count if you go back to a previous save and kill a demon. I went back to the Hissing Waste, found a Rift, and killed the other 2% of demonds needed to complete Demonslayer Achievement. The achievement popped! I approached a Rift and when I was down to my last demon I noticed the achievement had not popped, so I left the last demon alive and walked away from the Rift. The Rift reset itself. I went back and stared killing demons again and about my forth demon kill the achievement popped!

(Note: This can be obtained through multiple playthroughs. Not required to get all 1000 with one run.)

What I've been doing is wherever there is a Fade Rift, I'll defeat a few of the demons and then leave the battle area (Just keep backing away from the battle. You'll see the enemy despawn, then just walk towards it again).

Doing this resets the spawn of the rift, so that the same demons that you just defeated respawn.

So you can just do this a few times on every Fade Rift or repeatedly on the same one until you decide to stop.

In theory, you could get all 1000 kills on the first rift in the Hinterlands.

There's my guide to it! Please explain any negative votes and hope this helps!

Thanks for pointing out you can just walk away from 'close the rift' and it'll refresh it. I would've got it anyway as I'm doing a 'casual 100%', but if you're not clearing all map objects in each area this will help. I think prologue has demons, so you could try there if you think you've run dry. Also, I think the Storm Coast has demons popping up randomly without a rift.

oddly enough I received this achievement after destroying a barrier, so unless the achievement was delayed, barriers might attribute to the 1000 kills.

@beastman rules Various areas throughout the game. And if you haven't done it already, you could refer to the other solution. As well as another playthrough if need be since it it stacks between playthroughs.

Easy peezy. Just close every Fade Rift in every region and complete the game. If you have the DLC complete those missions as well in order to kill as many demons as possible. I was able to get this in ONE play-through and it popped up for me during the finale battle of The Trespasser DLC.

You will regularly encounter what are called rifts, especially if you are planning on unlocking the "Marked for Greatness" achievement detailed further down this guide. Around these rifts, as well as in random locations (like the Fade), you will find many demons. Defeat a total of 1,000 demons to unlock the achievement (these kills also count towards your progress of "Invincible").

This trophy is for defeating demons specifically, not just any enemy. Demons are those that come out of rifts, and you'll occasionally come across them at other places. Don't worry too much about this, since you'll come across more than enough demons throughout the game. You need to seal 75 Rifts in total for the Marked for Greatness trophy which gets you quite a few demon kills. The total carries over between playthroughs.
