How to unlock the Bloodied achievement in Dragon Age: Origins - Definitive Guide

As stated previously, just play through the introductory portion of the game. It seems you don't actually have to not "fall in battle." I died a couple of times and still got the achievement. After I died, I selected "Resume last saved game."

So don't reset your game just because you died. Continue playing by selecting the "resume" option after dying and you should still pop the achievement.

EDIT:

Here's some great info from Steel Bovine explaining how this works:

"The key here is that if your party wipes, you load from a last save and now technically your hero has not died. If your hero falls in battle but you win the battle, your hero will automatically revive. If you do not load from an old save and complete the battle without your hero dying, you will not unlock this chievo."

Thx for explaining how that worked. I just edited my solution with your info to give peeps a better idea of how and why it works. Thanks again!

Works fine. I found it easy enough to not die,in any case, as a mage with an healing spell.

What constitutes a story? A quest or the entire game?

Cannot see how you'd die in this game, it's unbelievable easy. Thanks for the guide anyway though :)

Yeah, it's simple enough. Some people have questions about the achievement (as did I back when DA: O was released) and once I found out how to acquire it, I just posted to let everyone know. Thx for the compliment on the solution.

FYI, try Nightmare Mode if you're having too easy of a time. I played Nightmare on my first play through. While not difficult at all (though some parts can be), it does add a decent challenge. Just getting acquainted with the game in the beginning on Nightmare required a small learning curve as I died a couple of times. Too bad there's no difficulty level achievement hehe.

@Spiffert

Sorry for the late reply, man. I seemed to miss the PM telling me someone commented on the solution. I'm sure you already know this by now, but the "origin story" is just your class story at the beginning of the game.

In order to get this use a dwarf commoner as a rogue on normal difficulty all you do is to get to the end of this origin complete it and then it will pop with the casteless trophy alsoclap

This can be done on any of the Origin stories. Don't allow yourself to run out of health during any of the origin stories. Keep it up with health potions. Setting the game on Casual difficulty makes this extremely easy.

In one of the backstory playthroughs, set the difficulty level to the lowest. In this case, it will be virtually impossible for the main character to die!

Backstory is the first story task that begins immediately after character creation.

The backstory lasts until the moment of arrival in Ostagar.
