How to unlock the Slayer achievement in Dragon Age: Origins - Definitive Guide

You need level 3 coersion and after making your way through the Werewolf lair, you will see a group of 3-5 werewolves waiting for u to get close to start the dialog. Save here if you want both endings.

To get this you have to persuade them to attack the elves and kill the elf leader. The dialog is straight forward and its the only option to persuade once you are talking to the "spirit". This takes level 3 coersion skill. Any less will not work.

After you attack and win the fight, the achievements pops.

Reload your save and kill the werewolves for the other achievement.

Note* There is no achievement for the scenario I like best, which is to free the the werewolves of the curse. I know its stupid but oh well. Hope this helps

You get the "sided with the elves" achievement for removing the curse and freeing the werewolves. I did, at any rate.

Make sure that you kill Elora (the lama lady) it won't pop until you run down the hill and kill her. Then a cutscence will show you talking to the lady of the forest.

If you cure the curse, the achievement for siding with the elves pops after you talk to Lanaya once you get back to the Dalish camp.

Didn't pop for me until I did as OSUdude21 suggested, then the cut scene kicked in.

Thanks for the heads-up on the level 3 coercion skill requirement. My first character would of had no problem but my second is built for strength and tanking damage so it was good to know I needed to put some points aside before-hand. +1 thanks for the help.

Unlike the comments here suggest, I did not receive the achievement once I removed the curse, even after talking to Lanaya. Forum threads on other related sites suggest I am not alone in this: most comments indicate the only way most people unlocked this was by killing the elves.

Great solution. Glad I looked at this when I did otherwise I wouldn’t have had the required coercion to side with the werewolves.

A tip for raising coercion to level 3 faster:
Old Tegrin (random encounter merchant) and Varathorn (merchant in Dalish camp) sell the Tome of Skill and Sundry for 12 gold which grants a skill point when used. Varathorn only traded with me after I brought him Rare Ironbark (giving him the Ironbark without demanding a reward might be wise).

I convinced the elf leader that what he was doing was wrong, and he sacrificed himself, there by removing the curse. Sided With The Elves popped up for me too

I got the achievement for siding with the elves too after convincing Zathrian to cure the curse and then going back to the Dalish Camp. No need to kill Elora the "lama lady" as the guy above me says. This is the best choice.

In order to unlock this trophy, you need to convince Swiftrunner and the Lady of the Woods that their only option is to attack the elves. This does require a persuade check but I believe that it is a fairly low level one. The relevant conversation options appear in the first conversation within the Ruins.

Beware that this wipes out ALL side quests within the Forest area. Complete everything that you are interested in before finishing this option.

Hey there. Just wanted to add that you need Level 3 coersion (Expert) to pull it off. Requires 14 Cunning to learn.

See "Poacher" for more details about this quest.

When you reach the end of the Werewolves' Lair, you'll be taken before the werewolves' leaders. Persuade them during the conversation to attack the Dalish Elves camp. You'll need to have the skill Expert Coercion (14 Cunning) to pull this off. Anything less, and they won't believe you. Once you convince them, you'll be taken the Elves camp. Wipe them out.

One Playthrough Method: In the room where first meet the shadow werewolves, make an additional save. In one, convince the werewolves to attack the elves. Reload and then convince the werewolves to negotiate.

For a general plan for penetrating the werewolf lair, see the “Poacher” achievement. When you find yourself in the lair and you have a dialogue with the werewolves, convince them that you need to attack the elf camp, for this there will be an option like, “I have a better proposal - kill Zathrian, kill the elves.” In order for it to work you need to have at least the Expert Coercion skill (14 Tricks). If a skill below the offer is rejected, if the offer is accepted, then you will need to go to the elf camp and kill everyone there. For this, the werewolves will support you in the final battle.
