I did this in chapter 2 at camp level 7.
Make a manual save 5 minutes before the raid. Place 2 windmills and 3 Tesla coils somewhat next to the center crystal in somewhat of a triangle formation(enemies are drawn to it for some reason if they can’t reach you or anything). Go ahead and connect the power and make some small fencing around the structures.
You can place decoys to protect the structures from damage but don’t place any mines. Also don’t attack with ranged or melee. This is expensive but it’s what I did.
Sit back and watch everything get zapped. Rollback and do as normal when done.

You can also set it up, like you suggest, at the end of Chapter 3(Autumn) and do the ritual for an auto raid, so you don't have to wait for a raid to spawn. our drakes died removing everything for the setup and our raid got canceled, but the quest ritual raid was still able to be triggered and it worked.

I just got this in the spring at camp level 4 using only 8 proximity mines and a decoy.
