Instead of building a long network of waypoints, just have at least 3 connected as a triangle. Leave the character grinding there for 10 to 15min and jump out in the end for the Achievement to pop.

Just did it using this method. No need to keep changing direction at all 😅 have a snack in the meantime.

For this, you need to ride the waypoint rails as a ghost. The best way to do it is set up a long network of waypoints. It doesn't have to be mega long. Once you die, select to travel back to your body. This will then allow you to run around and then grind on the rails.

When you get to the end of the rail you can press to instantly go in the opposite direction to continue grinding. To make things a little quicker, you can also hold up on the

The important thing to remember is this will not pop until you have jumped off the rails and landed on the ground, which makes it a little difficult to know if you have done the distance.

Completing this also contributes to the following achievement:

Make sure to save before dying. I was able to do this easily by setting up 6 waypoints around my camp, killing myself in the aether, then riding the waypoints in a completed circle. That way your character doesn't get off the rail unless you jump. You can then just leave your controller for 15 min or so until it's been 10km. The achievement doesn't pop until you jump off so wait a while. You can turn off your controller and your character will continue to grind. After the achievement pops, quit out and reload to right before you died since during that time a raid most likely happened.

A quick guide below showing the rough estimate of time you need to ride the rail as a ghost (10 - 15 Mins) it is recommended that you have a longer rail setup as i do in the video but it still can be possible on a single link by pressing B to go backwards and forwards, However this may add to the completion time!
