There are 22 battles in total for the Shu campaign as selected from the story menu. Difficulty does not effect the achievement.

Not really, each is pretty straight forward, just do as your told by commanding officers and if your having trouble with an enemy officer try drag them away and get them to chase you to fight them 1-on-1

If you want... Worst comes to worst drop it to easy difficulty, it doesn't effect anything in the game so outside of a bit of pride nothing is hurt

Its pretty simple, you have to finish the story mode of the Shu. You have 22 battles to complete it and you can have the achievement in the easiest level of difficulty. The only thing that could be difficult are the escort battle, especially the Battle of Guandu where you have to stand by Liu Bei at all time.
