How to unlock the True Dynasty Warrior Gundam achievement in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 - Definitive Guide

Just like the previous game to the Dynasty Warriors Gundam franchise there is quite a haul of missions you must complete however on the plus side it won’t be as aggravating to unlock those missions. Unlike the previous game the Friendship Status of your pilots NEVER go down so you do not have to worry about having to meet specific relationship status’s or having to shoot down a certain other pilot. You must complete the following types of missions for this trophy:

  • Story Mission
    • Those Who Understand
    • Those Who Doubt
    • Those Who Fight
    • Those Who Pass By
    • For Peace
    • For Victory
    • For Reform
  • Relationship Mission
  • Friendship Mission
  • History Mission
  • Collection Mission
  • Challenge Mission
  • Tutorial Mission
  • Memorial Mission
  • Special Mission

Alot of the missions come as easy as completing the mission before it while other missions require you get raise your friendship status with certain characters or get a certain amount of kills with different mobile suits.

Here is a complete list with the requirements that you will need for this trophy: Complete Mission List

Collection Missions:

Probably one of the more time consuming mission’s you will have to complete. You have to launch as a certain Mass Production mobile suit from 10 – 20 times and then get 1000 shot downs with many more Mass Production mobile suits. For launching 10 – 20 times you could easily go into a mission on HARD and let yourself get destroyed and it will count towards your count. In this instance i recommend doing one of the following to raise Friendship Status with your pilots while you are grinding out launches, depending on what you have unlocked.

  • For Reform
    • The Neverending Battle
  • Challenge Mission
    • Love … And Mobile Suits

The Neverending Battle on HARD is a fight against Knight Gundam right away in his Transformation mode, about 2 hits and you are dead. Love … And Mobile Suits starts with your morale dropping to zero right away meaning one death and its game over for you, in this mission you are allowed to have a Partner Strike so you could alternatively be raising Friendship Status with two characters opposed to the one in Neverending Battle.

Challenge Missions:

Challenge Missions can be hard as they require you to play using Mass Production Mobile Suits for a majority of the missions, the other missions on the otherhand aren’t so much of a problem as you can use your stronger suits instead. Follow the recommended Skills and Attachments below and you should be fine through out the Challenge Missions. I do recommend using Interim Saves though in the start menu of a mission while playing because you never know when something will hit you and ultimately make you start over.

Recommended Skill Attachments:

  • Harmonizer
  • Shock Absorber
  • I-Field

Harmonizer will increase the rate in which the Partner Strike gauge increases which could prove to be a huge amount of help especially during the very last mission. Shock Absorber increases the rate your SP gauge increases whenever you get hit, most of the time you will be on the edge of dying when are getting hit, however if it fills your SP gauge you could use it to escape from the continuous attack as well as get some damage out. I-Field reduces the amount of damage from projectiles … it may not seem like much in every other mission, however it will be very handy in the last mission of the game where every hit is a fatal blow to your MS.

Recommended Character Skills:

  • Ace Pilot
  • Serene Mind
  • Moonrace

Ace Pilot gives you a 10% Attack and Defense increase throughout the rest of the mission for every 100 shot downs, though it may be hard to get to 100 the first time. As soon as you start being able to kill them quicker then this skill with give you as much more of a stat increase in the long run. Serene Mind constantly increases your SP gauge which is a definite must later for the final mission which can be viewed below. Moonrace much like Ace Pilot gives you a boost after every X number of shoot downs, for every 50 shoot downs you get a temporary stat boost.

The Return of the True Dynasty Warrior’s Gundam Strategy:

This mission is the bane of this game’s existence, you start off with only 1 field, a stupid A.I ally, you have multiple Aces coming at you, anything that hits you could do AT LEAST 1/3 of your health and that’s assuming you maxed out the pilot and the MS defense and armor. Remember that Interim Save is your best friend during this mission. Play patiently and avoiding risky attacks.

Recommended MS: Knight Gundam

His insanely overpowered Charge attacks when under his transformation mode is probably the best thing you could ask for, the attack will easily refill your SP gauge by the time your transformation is up and you will have shot down all grunts units in your way in the process. Also if you want to do even more damage you can get his special equipment skill by finishing "Chapter: Reform - Neverending Battle" on HARD, his special equipment increases his attack during his transformation mode when you use his musou.

Recommended Partner Strike: Duo Maxwell (Deathscythe Gundam)

Duo Maxwell is a good partner strike to have when trying to escape attacks you cant get out of, Duo will come out and spin Deathscythes scythe and it will pull any enemies surrounding him inside giving you a chance to escape or give you a chance to attack the enemy while they can’t do anything and are wide open.

Heres how the mission layout always starts:

Notice how there is an enemy catapult pointing straight for your main base. One thing to keep in mind when playing this mission, that base WILL fall do not try to protect it. Your Ally will run straight for the enemy main base so hes a lost cause. What you want to do is run around the map taking over fields while avoiding enemy aces, if you see an enemy ace then RUN without asking any questions. Taking over the bases and kill the grunts will help build up the amount of shootdowns you have for the Ace Pilot skill.

At the start of the mission you want to proceed downward and take over the Outpost Base. As you run around the field your partner gauge will go up and if you do find yourself in a situation where you are about to get hit by an enemy ace you can use your partner strike to escape. Next you want to take over the Morale Station that is indicated by the wrench, this field slowly recovers the enemy's morale and because each shoot down and field gain barely hits their morale as is, then you might want to take this over to prevent further problems.

After you have gotten those two out of the way, just keep running around the map taking over bases, avoid all aces at all costs, wait until the enemy aces leave a field far enough for you to dash in there and take it over. Once you have depleted the enemy's morale low enough and have accumulated at least over 1000 shoot downs, go into the enemy main base and try to finish the mission as quickly as possible before the other enemy aces can catch up to you, they will be trying to take over any fields in their way before making it to the main base so you will have time.
