How to unlock the Scavenger achievement in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon - Definitive Guide

If you have not obtained this by the time you reach level 8 with your first armor... which is unlikely, unless you're the luckiest person alive, the fastest way to farm weapons that I was able to find is to keep starting chapter 3: part 2. There will be 4 or 5 small hectors at the start of the level. Just wipe them out with your teir 8 uber weapon, pick up all weapons, and restart. Rinse and repeat until finished. Also, make sure you do this on inferno as it isn't possible to find all the weapons on lower difficulties.

Perfect spot. I played with my level 8 friend and he just nuked them and I would jet over and collect the weapons since they count for all players. Def the best way to get this achievement

It may be the best way to this achievement but that does not mean that it is easy. I have been grinding that spot for 2 hours and have not found the last two weapons I need.

yes, it does count... no matter what happens, as long as you picked it up, you won't lose it.

You can still use Tier 8 Weapons online if the host allows it. My friend and I have been playing together online with Tier 8 weapons.

Thanks for this suggestion, I got my last few weapons in no time. Easiest way to farm was flying up on the arch behind the start with the Jet armor and using the Pesticide Rifle to pick off the hectors. +1

Does this pop when you get the last gun, or when the level ends?

I'm missing the Lyzander Style sniper rifle for the Jet. Is there a stage it is more common on?

It pops as soon as you get it. And as for the gun drops just keep playing 3-2 you will eventually get it. My last gone took 7hrs to finally drop hope this helps.

Closing the game when you haven't gotten a new one in awhile is the best tip you can have for this. This game seems to increase odds of giving you a weapon you are missing after relaunching the game. Got my last gun right away this way

I've been farming 3-5 with a friend on Inferno Campaign Remix. We get about 12-15 weapon drops each time (depending on whether or not Wasps spawn). Ran through it about 6 times and only got 2 weapons I didn't have.

Do you know if it counts the drops/kills you get if you die? I know it doesn't count the score for your money or xp when you die or restart. But since restarting retains your kills and you say it retains your weapons that you pick up, then what if you die do you keep them as well?

Thanks, started doing it your way and i'm up to 102. If I play it on Remix there end up being 5 or 6 hectors, 2 boomer spiders, and every once in a while 2 wasps. Right at the beginning (of course not all at once) before you reach the checkpoint. Normally if I finish the level, there ends up being 2-4 more wasps (if they spawned in the beginning), and either 2-4 mantis, 1 more boomer spider and every 2 or 3 runs a Super Hector. I keep finishing the level, cause I still need money.

Heh I didn't realise weapons collected online went to everyone playing. A jet guy kept grabbing them all so I killed him, then the AI so they couldn't revive him...brought them back eventually tho, he let me pick some up after that.

I have been farming 3-2 on remix but I have been stuck on 106/107 for months. I have even replayed the campaign hoping for it to drop to no avail. The Nilchoke shotgun level 7 just will not drop for me, even playing as a trooper.

Thanks to the update you can't use the Tier 8 weapons online any more. So you have to do it offline.

I'm at 105 out of 107 weapons. I'm missing 1 assault rifle and 1 missile launcher.

This is my first guide! the original guide made by RedHoodedMenace!

so, for this achievement must "farming" the dropping weapon. this is the settings

Game type: offline
bots :Off
campaign : Remix
difficulty : inferno
chapter :3
level : 2

in remix mode, at start we are 3-4 hector and 1- 2 wasp or metal wasp (at random). kill them all with pesticide gun (the explosion is very big! calculate the distance or you die ) take all the boxs and restart the level.

with this method i pick 103/107 in a lot of time.

yesterday i take the last five weapon in 2 hours simply restarting the game after 3 restart (go back to dashboard) .I got new weapons at the first, second and third attempt (obviously not always but percentages more than 10 attempts playing in a row)

sorry for my bad english and good farming :D

The dashboarding method is a real plus for this. I had 104/107 for over a year and just couldn't get new weapons to drop. Using this method I picked up the last three I needed in two runs. Brilliant

Dashboarding did feel like it was helping right until the last gun which took me 5+ hours to unlock.

NightmareEX asked me to test his method to see if dashboarding is more efficient than just restarting.

What I have found in my experience is that typically within 5 rounds of farming this level after dashboarding I would pick up a new weapon. I was already at 101/107 so I was down to picking up the rarest drops. After 1h30 mins of dashboard method I am at 106/107.

With the restart method I could go 10 runs with no weapon or get 2 consecutively.

I cannot say definitively that dashboarding is more efficient as I believe the drops are luck based, but for NightmareEX it certainly seemed efficient and it seems to be working well for me so far.

I can only say that it seems to average out the time between drops, which for those who may lose patience can only be a good thing as it keeps progress at a steady pace.

To unlock this achievement, my method is to raise all four armor classes by level 8 to get a little easier, only before, you will also get some dropped weapons by playing the lower levels.
An easier way to cultivate the rest of the weapons is to play the chapter. 3: Mission 2. There will be 4 or 5 small hectors at the beginning of the level or chapter. 1: Mission 4 both in mode (REMIX or CAMPAIGN).
Clear the entire map and then restart to continue picking up the weapons.

There are 107 weapon drops. These drops are completely random. They drop from the "elite" enemies and from main bosses. Hectors, Large Hectors, Wasps, Bomber Spiders and the 3 main bosses will all drop weapon crates when they are destroyed. The crates show up as yellow crosses on your map. Weapons will repeat so in the course of your playthrough, you may receive 107 drops but that doesn't mean you'll have all 107 unique weapons. Also, whether a boss drops these crates is random; sometimes you'll only get a health crate.

You can check your inventory to see your weapons from drops They will have a small biohazard symbol next to them. Some weapon drops cannot be used immediately. For example: If you are at Level 3 with your trooper class then you can only utilize up to the Tier 3 weapons. Sometimes though, you'll receive drops for weapons on a Tier greater than you can currently use. Those weapons will still have the Radiation symbol next to them but they'll also show up as locked. Once you reach the appropriate level the weapon will become available.

Weapon's List

Grind spot:

1. You can get approximately 5-8 weapon drops by repeating Chapter 3, Mission 4. Your first big fight in this mission is against a horde of ants and spiders. Eventually 3 small Hectors arrive and will potentially all drop weapons when defeated. Sometimes only 1 will drop a weapon crate though; it's slightly luck based. After this fight you move onto the major boss battle. The trick here is to not kill her. An infinite amount of ants, spiders and wasps will spawn as you're attempting to defeat the boss. Kill as many wasps as you can as they almost always drop weapon crates.

2. Another method for grinding drops is to wait until you have a pesticide gun. Once this happens head to Mission 4 of Chapter 1 on Inferno (3 Hectors right at the beginning) and quickly take them out with the Pesticide gun. Repeat until you have them all. This may take a while but just be patient. You don't have to complete the level for the gun drops to save. Simply restart the level once you've killed the 3 Hectors.

There are 107 total drop-only weapons from "Elite" enemies/bosses. The weapons are random for the most part and will drop on any level of the game, but you only get up to Tier 4 while playing on Normal difficulty. I have had Tiers 2-6 drop on Hard so there is a bit of overlap there, with Tier 7 being reserved to Inferno (though any Tier can drop on Inferno, all the way down to T2). There is only one Tier 8 weapon for each armor, which is a gift for maxing the respective armor's level. Weapons in your inventory that came from a drop will have a biohazard symbol on the left side.

Playing Chapter 3, Mission 1 in Remix mode could give continual Metal Wasp spawns (need Metal Ants in the first spawned fight of the level). You can also kill the five Hectors at the very beginning of Chapter 3, Mission 2 or the three in the beginning of Chapter 1, Mission 4. These are probably the best grinding spots for weapons.

Click here for all the weapons. Dropped weapons are in green.
