How to unlock the Close Call achievement in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - Definitive Guide

This can be easily done even without purchasing upgrades in Chapter 3, thanks to 1 simple fact: the countdown pauses when the enemy is stunned.

At the end of Chapter 3, you should run into a large room with several inactive enemies and the first instances of stun ammo. You will have to fight these enemies to continue and one of them should start broadcasting. Try to take out all the enemies not broadcasting, but make sure you watch the time. As soon as it hits 01 seconds, hit it with a stun blast. Then it's just a matter of taking out the enemy before the stun wears off.

I noticed that as well, x charge attack works to stop the timer as well. Thumbs up

Here's a solution that's doable at the very beginning of a chapter and doesn't require any upgrades.

Start Chapter 3 on Easy. Tripp will almost immediately scan to reveal three 'unconscious' mechs, and the one closest to you will begin calling for reinforcements. It doesn't matter if you kill the other two, but if you can do it quickly without accidentally killing the one calling for reinforcements, it makes it a whole hell of a lot easier.

While the reinforcement counter is ticking down, damage the mech until he's got the red sparks, which means he's near death. Position yourself so that the roadblock (near the shipping container) is between you two so he can't run up and whallop you as easily. Pull left trigger to aim your staff, and keep it trained on him. Blast him when the timer gets to 1 second.

If you fail, restart the checkpoint and try again. You can use Back to skip the cut scenes. I had it on the first try that I used the roadblock to keep him away from me, and had only managed to kill 1 of the other mechs.

I think the best way to do this is to use your staff's plasma blast. I recommend buying the 2x plasma blast damage upgrade (in the neighborhood of 40k). When a broadcaster appears, dodge it until the countdown gets low. Hold LT to aim and when the counter hits 1, fire!

A more difficult method would be to time your melee attacks to kill it at the last second. I don't recommend this, as it probably won't work.

There is a part somewhere at the beginning of "Chapter 7: Finding Trip" (can't remember where exactly) where you are on top of some walkways, once you have cleared the mechs there, you'll find a lone broadcasting mech without attacking you. You'll have plenty of time to line up a plasma shot and wait for the timer to reach 1.

Broadcasters are the Mechs that call for reinforcements. Once they attempt a call, a countdown will appear on top of their heads.

On Easy, their countdown starts at 40 seconds. On Hard, you only get 15 seconds.

An easy way to do this if you're having trouble on Hard is to start Chapter 3 on Easy with a fully upgraded Plasma Shot. During the sneaking session in the beginning of the chapter, instead of sneaking past the group of enemies, make scrap metal outta these Mechs until one of them attempts a radio call. Kill off the others, sparing this one Mech and as soon as the countdown reaches 01, Stun the guy, then one-shot him with a Plasma Shot for the trophy.

Thanks to Cheattaro for reminding me that countdowns can be stopped by stunning the enemy.

Simply shoot a weak Mecha Destroyer with Plasma Blast, which will start a counter above its head. Kill his companions and wait until there is 1 second left on the clock. After that, shoot. On easy difficulty it takes about 40 seconds, on hard about 15. When the destroyer mech is stunned, the counter stops.

Chapter 2 mode is difficult in the location with the first turret, you can make two trophies at once. Let the robots grab Trip, after she stuns them, kill them and let the next party kill her (repeat as many times as necessary to get the Got Your Back trophy). And for to get the Close Call trophy, kill all the robots without exploding the barrels and when the robot runs with a stopwatch on its head, aim at the barrels on the platform next to where the truck was, and shoot at them when the robot is in the air, jumping onto this platform!
