Hard to say. A possibility I haven't seen mentioned is that they're all dead (the slaves), and therefore 'freed'. I want moar story! :P

True, it was the only right choice... better to live freely in a destroyed world, than to just think that you are in a created world. Great story did it turn out to be, by the way!

In my opinion she did. If you ever saw Repomen, the ending is similar to that.

The slaves a not living, they are perceiving life. To live with conscious thought and be able to control your own mind and think your own thoughts would be much better than to simply stand there and perceive life.

Just my opinion. BWT, I hated the ending of repomen, anyone else?

Personally, I would have liked to have made the choice myself, with alternative endings depending on the outcome.
