How to unlock the Stunning achievement in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - Definitive Guide

You can stun enemies by either:

- holding X to charge your staff and then releasing when an enemy is near
- shooting an enemy with your staff whilst you have the (blue) stun ammo selected

You'll know you've stunned an enemy as they will become inactive for a short while. If you've unlocked the combat awareness abillity, they will also turn yellow.

Do this to 75 different enemies and this achievement will unlock. If you die during a fight, the stuns you've done so far will still be counted - this does not work if you select 'restart checkpoint' however.

Am I the only one who stunned every enemy, but unlocked the kill 200 achievement way before I unlocked this?

^ looking at the order in which I got the achievements, it seems to be fairly normal to kill 200 before stunning 75.

As mentioned in the other solution by a removed gamer, Trip's EMP stuns also count. I unlocked this achievement with an EMP stun (even a scripted one).

There are actually three ways to stun enemies:

- hold X until your staff has charged and release to do a stun attack
- shooting an enemy with stun ammo
- having Trip use an EMP to stun enemies when they attack her

I can vouch for this third option because the achievement unlocked for me when Trip used an EMP to disable a couple of mechs. Not that there are that many moments when it's possible for mechs to gang up on her but still good to know.

Stunning is a great way of gaining some moments to breathe when you're being attacked so I would recommend to stun your enemies before properly attacking anyway.

Don't worry if you don't have the achievement yet when you get the achievement for killing 200 enemies. Remember, you're also killing them by hijacking turrets; you're neither stunning the turrets nor the mechs you gun down with them. Plus, there's types of enemy that can't be stunned; they'll count towards your kill count but not your stun count.

(I know I don't seem to have this trophy yet, but I have unlocked the corresponding achievement on X360. Seeing as there wasn't a guide on TT yet, figured I'd share the TA guide I wrote.)

There are a number of ways to stun enemies in the game:

  1. One way is by using Stun Blast on enemies.
  2. The other way is done by using a Charged Melee Attack, done by holding till the staff glows, and then releasing.
  3. A third way is using a Takedown on a Electro Mech
  4. Trip's EMP (thanks for the heads up purifico)

Stun 75 different enemies using a combination of the above 3 methods and the trophy will unlock.

An easy way to ensure you get this on your first playthrough is to stun every enemy you face. That way, you can be guaranteed to earn this trophy by the time you beat the game.

If you have been stunning every enemy you've encountered, you should unlock this trophy around Chapter 8 or 9.

not a difficult trophy, the stun is considered when after your attacks the robot stands and comes to its senses for a couple of seconds, + contributes to stunning, but not always
