How to unlock the Liberator achievement in F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch - Definitive Guide

To add some clarity on requirements for this achievement and some issues you may find, based on my experience and having to dig around the web for information. Firstly, note that you can check your overall completion progress by checking the number against your save file. Below is what is counted by the game to get that to 100%:

- All HP Extracts
- All SP Essences
- All EP Compounds
- All Data Disks
- All Plant Seeds.
- 100% Map completion.

In addition to collecting all of the above, you also need to:

- Get all Ability Upgrades
- Get all Device Upgrades
- Collect all Posters (these do not show on the map)

Check the respective guides on this site for more details on the above collectibles.

I want to add some tips here that helped me get 100% when I felt that I had fulfilled the above but clearly had missed something:

- When collecting posters, YOU MUST return them to Urso in Joffre Street for them to count to the total. Having them in your inventory is not enough.
- If you are missing a poster, there is a good chance it’s the one got from Instructor Chang in the Western Range (called ‘Fly’). He is the character in the training area to the left of the fast travel point. You need to talk to him until he starts counting the press ups then exit the area via fast travel. Return to him and talk to him again until he starts counting again and again, exit the area. Do this one final time and when he gets to counting, he will forget where he got to and ask you to remind him. Answer with ‘967’ to get the poster. Others you may miss are;
- You will get a poster (‘Sunday Fever’) for completing every mapped area 100% and returning this information to Mappo on Joffre Street.
- Another poster (‘Woof Woof’) can be obtained by eating 3 bowls of Classic Noodles at the noodle house on Joffre Street. You need to keep eating there until he says he is creating a new recipe, exit the area and return until he makes these noodles available.
- Some posters are also available to purchase from Jingles and for collecting seeds for Pippin on Joffre Street
- There are 51 Plant Seeds that count to the total although you can only cash in 50 with Pippin so check you have 51 in your inventory.
- After you have collected and used all the data disks required to fully upgrade the skill tree, you should have an additional 3 data disks showing in your inventory by the end of the game. This is where I was missing one and I was stuck at 99% completion. They all show on the map (except those that you receive for completing the training). The one I was missing also DOES NOT SHOW on the map. Check the right hand side of Western Range (at the base of the mountain to the right of the wooden tower) and you will find someone digging in the debris. Talk to him and he will give you the final data disk he has found.

Finally, here is a link for finding collectibles on the map that I found useful (not made by me) - https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1XVKYod0vq-nUv...

I seem to be missing one data disk, I've tried the guy in the western plains at the debris pile and no data disk. Could there be another place I'm missing? I currently have all maps 100% and all upgrages, etc. After I turned in 1 poster from the slum fighter achievement popped even though I still show having 2 extra data disk

Mine popped after the slum fighter poster but oddly I had already gotten the poster achievement. My guess is the slum fighter poster with everything else makes 101% and I missed something.

I just finished this game, and can confirm that, if you collect everything in the game, you do not need to get the Slum Fighter poster, as I didn't feel like going through the entire thing. I up-voted for the maps.

Hmm, there's a data disk icon on the map in Upper Torch Tower, but there's nothing actually there. So I should have 3 data disks left? I have 2, so this one should be here. This one in Upper Torch Tower just isn't there for me. It's the one that's supposed to be in the farthest upper right.

Just in case I went to the Western Range, and found the guy digging, but he didn't give me anything. Am I really gonna be screwed out of the 100% because the Disk in Upper Torch Tower just didn't spawn? Guess I'll go beat the last boss and get the last map 100% and see.

Ok phew, I went back to Upper Torch Tower after going to the Western Range, and the Data Disk is there now. OK, got 100% game finished.

Still have no idea what this Slum Fighter I've seen mentioned is, so it's definitely not needed for 100%. I've been everywhere and I haven't seen anything like that.

In case anyone is wondering about this "Slum Fighter" thing... it's found to the left of the big arena where you first fight Cicero in the Upper Torch Tower, towards the end of the game. Go all the way left, past the Terminal and a little green tunnel will open once you get close to the very left wall. Interact with it and it will transport you to the "Slum Fighter" arcade cabinet.
That being said... this Slum Fighter minigame is borderline broken in the tournaments firstly because of the buggy "Next Battle" menu that doesn't properly work, getting stuck on the screen and can make the bosses invisible or even freeze the game... and secondly, because the 'special' bosses that are exclusive to this minigame are unfathomably brutal, even with max upgrades. Definitely not worth bothering with this crap mode.

In order to obtain the Liberator achievement, you must 100% all areas on the map by collecting all posters, plant seeds, mystery shards, upgrading all your equipment to max level, purchasing all moves from the kiosks and unlocking all chests.

A good way to check if you are missing anything is to check each area very closely by zooming in and looking around to see if there’s a path you may have skipped due to maybe not owning a certain skill or perhaps an unobtained collectible which are highlighted with a certain symbol, according to the map legend.

The best method to obtain everything is to wait until you have beaten the main game and unlocked most of the skills/abilities then go from there, remembering to use the transport pod to get between areas.

Good Luck!

@Flaunt319 yeah, I talked to him several times, he just says something of sorts "what are you looking at?" and nothing happens

Has anyone figured out a solution for the missing disk? Really don't want to redo the entire game for the achievement

@headXcrash You are probably missing a different one from the debris guy. During the Western Range battle, you can fight an optional boss, but if you skip it, the debris guy sells the data disk to you. I had already fought the optional boss. I found the last discs in the final mission.

The debris guy doesn't give me anything. I got a data disk there for fighting a big guy though. I even made a new file and rushed to him and still no disk.... ok so, i got the achievement, it popped after I turned in 1 poster from the slum fighter. Still shows me as having 2 data disks but the achievement popped :) hopefully this helps anyone else

I’m stuck at 99%. I have 51 seeds, two extra data discs after buying everything, debris guy only asks me what I’m looking at and I can’t find anything on the map. All sections besides upper torch tower are at 100% (the tower is at 95.51%.) Mappo never gave me the Sunday Fever poster and I was only able to get the all poster achievement by beating Slum Fighter leaving me with 21 posters.

Anybody able to offer some advice to get that last percent?

@headXcrash That is strange. If that guy digging in the debris has never given you a data disk before then that has to be the one you are missing. As to why he isn’t offering it, I am not sure. I am not aware of any specific criteria to get him to give it to you. Especially weird as you have every other achievement. The only other thing I can think of is that you already have that one and it’s a different one you are missing. Take a look a the maps I posted a link to in my guide and see if anything jumps out :)
