FIFA 12

As of 13/04/2012 I can confirm that the quitting out for 99 games still works !!! The one thing that will determine that the achievement will unlock is that you CANNOT have a traded player with over a 100 games under his belt by the time your player is on 99 games !!.

What i did was move all my players that were traded and had played a lot of games to the trade pile, you can put them all back in your squad when your finished and then I filled my starting eleven, subs bench and reserves with bronze players that i got from PACKS I opened.

Obviously i had to get a lot of contract cards to keep the players in the squad but i kept quitting out ( always after 5 mins at least on the game clock ! ) so my highest player in my squad was on 99 and then i played the 100th match and the ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED !!!!!

My best tip would be to stick with goalie from a league that you like and is good. I stuck with Joe Hart until i had 100 games

It seems due to comments below the solution above is working but seems glitchy for some people (including me). You can try the solution above or alternatively just use the one below as you will play more than 100 games to get the other UT achievements.

Unfortunately the other solution I.e forfeit 99 games no longer works so for this achievement you have to actually play the 100 games. This might sound a lot but you will easily play this many games while going for the 'Growing Club' achievement.

The best thing to do is to start an Ultimate Team and purchase a pack from the store, if you don't have any coins, you can either play a series of one-off matches or alternatively invest some MS Points in buying a pack. Ideally you will want to purchase a gold pack as a player from this pack will need to be in your starting 11 for the next 100 games.

Once you have him in your squad you can start playing tournaments and work towards the 'We need a larger trophy case' achievement. Providing you win every game in the tournaments this will take your tally up to 40 games. Make sure at all times that you keep your chosen player in the squad. You can buy fitness, morale, injury cards and contracts direct from the FIFA auctions to ensure he is always there.

After you play the 40 games (10 tournaments) you will have earned around 25000+ in coins, you can choose to spend this on bronze packs for the 'Pack King' achievement.

To get the 'Growing Club' achievement you will need at least 150K in coins, so either keep playing tournaments or single matches making sure your chosen player is in the starting 11. At the end of the 100th game the achievement will unlock.

I personally followed the other guide and found out the hard way it doesn't work - please don't make the same mistake.

As of 21/05/2012 I can also confirm the 'Forfeiting' technique still works.

First of all open a pack to get a player, I was lucky enough to get an IF Fred so I went with that. I played 42 games legitamately to earn the 10 Trophies achievement. This took me months as I was just doing it a few games at a time, so I couldn't be bothered with playing it for another 4 months so I read all the other solutions and this how I did it.

I already had loads of Bronze players in my club to earn the 'Growing Club' cheevo. I created a new squad with Fred in it and the just put any Bronze players in until their contracts ran out, then just replaced with another Bronze when they ran out of contracts. This way you don't have to keep buying contracts. Now just keep playing single games. Play 5 in game minutes and forfeit until you get to 99. Then complete the 100th game and the cheevo should pop. I used traded players so that does not matter. Just make sure, like what STORM says, no other traded players have played over 100 games by the time your target player has 99.

UPDATE: The servers for this game are no longer online, so all online achievements in this game are now discontinued.

This is just a bit more detail on the previous solutions. The quit out method up to 99 games, and then play the final game in full will still unlock this achievement as of 12th October, however, there are glitches which may reset or void the achievement. The glitches to avoid are as follows:

- if the player ever runs out of contract or the manager runs out of contract then this in effect resets the counter. Therefore ensure the required player (which must be bought from a pack to be on the safe side and a bronze pack can be purchased for only 400 coins). You do not need to ensure all the starting 11 players don't run out of contract, just the player you are using to play 100 games.
- When playing the final game if there are players on the pitch who's stats indicate they've played over 100 games already (ie, whilst at other clubs) then this may also stop the achievement from popping. Therefore ensure the squad players in both the starting 11 and subs have not played more than 100 games already - this can be done by going from the main menu in Ultimate Team to Stats -> Player Stats. You can still use these players when quitting the games up to the 99th game, just not in the final game you play in full.

To save time, I would also recommend doing this entirely without playing a match online as this may also glitch the achievement if the other play disconnects before you. I did the entirety of the achievement in single player mode without ever going online. To do this from the main menu in Ultimate Team go to Play Match -> Single Match -> Single Player then just quickly skip through to the game. You don't need to wait 5 mins for the clock to pass - you can quit out as soon as the in game clock reaches around 15 seconds, then simply pause the game and choose to forfeit the game. Rinse and repeat up to 99 games then simply play the last game in full and voila!!!! You may need a few coins/players to get to the 99 games with all 11 players so I'd maybe recommend going for this after you've amassed a vast squad or significant amount of coins. You could also simply use the players received from the bronze pack which costs 400 coins in the store. In the packs you receive a few contracts and occassionally injury cards (the ones which reduce the time the player is out) all of which sell pretty quickly at auction at a bid of 150 coins - buyout of 200. This in effect gives you the players free as the money made from the auction will cover the cost of the bronze pack and actually made me more when doing this :-)

As consumable cards are now a problem for most people, there is an easy way out:

Start an Ultimate Team with a second account (can be silver, but must be in your main accounts friends list). trade all your consumable cards to your main account. delete UT of second account and create a new one. rinse and repeat as often as needed.

you can also trade the silver players you occasionally get. or even the bronze ones. good for club value.

More detail on the trading:
as your main account: put one player (or any other card) up for sale. make a price that no one will pay. e.g. 950 for a 50ish player.
as your second account: 1) create a new ultimate team and put all players, consumable cards and manager on your trading pile.
2) search for the card that your main account has put up for sale
3) offer 4 cards (this is the max) from your trade pile
4) you can sell the other cards from your second accounts trade pile. this will give you 200-300 points. and you can add these points to the 4 cards offered.
5) delete second acconts UT
as your main account: 1) accept the offer.
2) you've got 4 cards and approx 200 points.

this is also a good way to get the 85 mill club value. as you can get a boat-load of bronze and some silver players without playing 1 match. the only thing you have to buy are shiny ones.

As of 08/12/2013 forfeiting games do count towards this achievement. I forfeited the last 18 matches prior to playing my 100th match with my player pulled from the pack and it unlocked for me.
