How to unlock the My Little Airship achievement in FINAL FANTASY IX - Definitive Guide

WHERE
The shack at the Observatory Mountain

WHEN
Before going to the Shimmering Island

This achievement cannot be obtained after the events on Terra as the Observatory is inaccessible. THIS ACHIEVEMENT IS MISSABLE.

STRATEGY
There is an eldrely fellow named Morrid inside the shack at the Observatory Mountain who is just dying for a good cup of coffee.

You need to find the three coffees at different locations in the world and return to him with them, before heading to Shimmering Island.

MOCCHA COFFEE
At the entrance to South Gate near the Chocobo Forest. This is obtainable from the start of the game until you go to Shimmering Island.

KIRMAN COFFEE
On Eiko's back porch in Madain Sari close to the waterfall by the table.

BURMAN COFFEE
Windmill at Dali Village. You need the Mayor's Key

During the card tournament, if you head through South Gate to Dali, you will be able to search the Mayor's house, since he is not home at this time.

When you enter his house, Zidane spots the mayor's son napping on the sofa in the middle of the room. If Zidane moves too hastily, he'll wake the boy and have to start the search over again. You can search the following in the room: desk, ladder, heater, and shelf.

When you start to search each location, the boy in the middle of the room will react. If you wake the boy up you will be forced to leave the room, although you can search the room many times during the card tournament.

You can determine how sleepy the boy is by seeing what he says when you search in the room. There are four types of reaction:

"Zzz..." - Search the area next to where you are.
"Hmm..." - Stay still
"Uhh..." - Stay still
"Uhh...Who's there?" - Forced to leave the room

To avoid waking the boy, you can only search the location just next to you. So if you go in from the main street, you can only search the desk and the shelf first, and if you go in from the windmill you can only search the desk. If you do it on the same location twice, the boy will says "Zzz...".

The Mayor's Key is in the stove. There is also a Mini-Brahne figure in the desk.

Go to the locked door in the windmill and use the key to open it. Move around the chocobo pen to the right side, where a hidden treasure chest contains 30,000 Gil. Check the same chest again to find the Burman Coffee.

END OF THE EVENT

If you talk to Morrid, sitting at the base of the Observatory, with the three coffee beans in your inventory, he will arrange to deliver the model of the theatre ship to the Theatre District in Lindblum.

The achievement unlocks after delivering the coffee beans to Morrid.

Mr Morrid, who you will meet at the Obvervatory Mountain before reaching Dali, wants 3 types of coffee: Moccha, Kirman and Burman, which he will trade for the Prima Vista miniature.

Moccha Coffee

You can get this by going to the South Gate, closest to the Chocobo Forest. As you enter from the world map, check the water on the right, closest to where you came in. You can easily get this on your way to Burmecia but it's not a train smash if you don't.

Kirman Coffee

Once you reach Madain Sari, Eiko will have a little dinner party. After dinner you can move outside to the kitchen area and on the far left between her groceries, you will find the coffee.

Burman Coffee

Upon your second return to Treno, leave the city immediately and go to Dali through the South Gate. As the mayor, who kept chasing you away earlier, is no longer in his house. Once in his house, move to the shelf and select it 3 times until the kid is fast asleep again and then move to the heater where you will find the Mayor's Key.

You can now move to the ladder and the desk where you will find a mini-Brahne.

Take your Mayor's key and go into the windmill. Open the door next to the chocobo and once outside, head to the far right, where you will find 30 000 gil. Search the same spot and pull out your Burman Coffee!

Now leave Dali and go to the Observatory Mountain just outside town and talk to Mr Morrid, to get your shiny new achievement.

I think that you should add that it's a missable achievement.
If you do not venture to Dali during the card tournament in Treno, you'll have the brother of the Mayor in his office, kicking you out (prior to visiting Terra) and if you try after visiting Terra, well Morrid is dead and therefore the quest cancelled.

@Kimitchii I am prior to the part of the card tournament, but didn't start the quest until then. Now that I visited Morrid, he's outside and can no longer start it I think

Nah, as long as Morris is alive the quest is still a go. You should visit the mayor's office in Dali during the card tournament in Treno and go give him all 3 beans. Because if you try and get the bean from the mayor office before or after the tournament, you can't. Also after coming back from Terra, Morrid will be gone... So give him the coffee before going to Terra.
Ultimately, it's missable if you don't get the coffee from the mayor during the tournament and if you have all 3 but venture to Terra because upon return, Morrid will be gone.

In order to get the Prima Vista miniature

Firstly, You get to accept the side quest just before reaching Dali for the 1st time, enter the Observatory Mountain next door. Talk to Morrid the old man in the building, he is looking for 3 rare coffees, Moccha Coffee, Kirman Coffee and Burman Coffee.

- Moccha Coffee can be found at the South Gate near the Chocobo Forest, search next to the water on the right hand side at the front. You can get this Disks 1,2 or 3, but I got it in Disk 1 before heading to Burmecia.

-Kirman Coffee can be found at Madain Sari on Disk 2. After the Eiko meal event check the left side of the kitchen, there will be a bunch of supplies nearer to the screen than the table, look there.

-Burman Coffee is the hardest one to get in my opinion. On Disk 3 after Garnet/Dagger is about to ascend to the throne, the party heads to Treno. Leave Treno and follow the path left to the Gate and through the area with the Gate Pass back to Dali. Once in Dali enter the Mayor's house (before now he tells you to leave, but now he's not there, just the sleeping child), this is the hard bit, you have to press the desk 3 times until the child has the zzzz speech icon, then choose the heater. You will receive the Mayor's Key. Head north and enter the windmill and use the Mayor's key on the door, leading outside to the chocobo. Go to the far end and hidden there's a treasure chest worth 30,000 gil to you, press it again, the prompt is now a question mark and you will receive the Burman Coffee

After receiving the three, assuming the Burman Coffee is the last one you get. Cash it in straight away. Travel from Dali to the Observatory Mountain and Morrid should be outside on the steps (was for me). Once you have pressed to talk you be straight back in his house and after one cut scene. Pop goes the trophy.

MISSABLE

To obtain the miniature copy of the Prima Vista, you must first collect three different coffees then deliver them to Morrid in the Observatory Mountain outside of Dali. The three coffees you must collect are the Moccha Coffee, Kirman Coffee and Burman Coffee.

  • Moccha Coffee: This coffee is located in the South Gate in the King Ed Plains which can be reached by leaving Lindblum by foot from the Dragon’s Gate. When you enter, walk all the way to the right and you will find the Moccha Coffee on the ground.
  • Kirman Coffee: This coffee is located in Eiko’s house in Madain Sari. Enter her kitchen and locate it on the table in the far left side of her kitchen.
  • Burman Coffee: This coffee can only be obtained during the card tournament in Treno on Disc 3. Leave Treno and make your way to Dali through the South Gate. Because the mayor is away to attend the card tournament, you can now search his house. Enter and you will be given a list of areas you can search. Search the desk three times, until the sleeping boy says "Zzz". Afterwards, search the stove and you will obtain the Mayor’s Key. Use the Mayor’s Key to unlock the door in the windmill and go through it. You will now be outside in the Chocobo's pen. Open the chest in the right hand corner of the pen for 30,000 Gil. Examine the chest again and you will find the Burman Coffee underneath it.

With the three coffees now in hand, go to the Observatory Mountain and speak with Morrid. He will give you the miniature Prima Vista in exchange for the three coffees. You must give Morrid the three coffees before entering Terra or you will have missed your chance, as Observatory Mountain is closed off during Disc 4.

To get the model airship, you must deliver three coffees to the old man at the Observatory next to Dali. This achievement must be done prior to completing Disc 3, as the location is closed during Disc 4. All of the coffees are mentioned in the missable walkthrough linked in the Road Map. One is very missable as it is only available during the card tournament on Disc 3. Be sure to follow the walkthrough closely and as soon as you get the third coffee, visit the old man to trade them for the model and unlock the achievement.

Missable trophy.
To get this trophy, you will need to take the mini Prima Vista from Morrida on Observatory Mountain near Dali (very beginning of the game, take the quest). To get a copy of Prima Vista from him, you will need to bring him three different types of exotic coffee: Moccha coffee, Kirman coffee and Burman coffee.

It is extremely important to get Prima Vista before Disc 4. Due to story developments, Observatory Mountain, where Morrid is located, will be locked until the end of the game. With that said, be sure to get it as soon as possible (early part of disc 3).

Moccha Coffee (can be skipped)
According to the plot, you need to go to Burmecia, as soon as you leave Linblum you go to the Chocobo forest, behind the forest there will be an entrance to another gate, on the right in the bushes there will be a coffee, where Sinna stole it.

Kirman Coffee
In Madain Sari in Eiko's House: In the kitchen, go between the two tables on the left side of the kitchen and he will be there.

Burmese coffee (can be skipped)
During the Treno card game tournament on disc 3: It is imperative in ATE to send Vivi home, otherwise there will be no way to leave Treno. While the tournament is ongoing, you will need to leave Treno and go all the way to Dali through the South Gate. Once back in Dali, head to the Mayor's House. Zidane will then say something about the mayor not being around, and then you can spy in his house.

What you need to do is inspect the table three times. After the third time, the "Zzz" dialog box will appear above the boy. After that, search the Heater and you will receive the Mayor's Key. With the Key in hand, leave the Mayor's House and head towards the Windmill. Open the door in the northeast corner of the house and go through the door.

After entering you will be taken to the street where the Chocobo is located. In the far right corner you'll notice a chest hidden behind the leaves of the tree in the foreground. Examine the chest to receive the item. Then examine the chest again and you will receive a Burman Coffee.
Now go to Morid and give him the coffee.
