Once you have caught the 99th frog, you will immediately enter battle without being able to open the menu, so you should equip you party before you do the frog catching.
Quale frequently uses water element attacks like "Water" and "Aqua Breath", and magic that causes status abnormalities, so you should equip items the absorb or neutralise water elemental attacks and support abilities that prevent status effects.
Also, it is quite a good idea to reduce Quale's MP to zero while having "Auto-Reflect" equipped, and then do physical attacks afterwards.
After your victory, you will get Quina's strongest weapon "Gastro Fork".
You can still catch frogs afterwards, but you will not get any items from doing so, although you can still increase Quina's 'Frog Drop' attack power.

He is one of the toughest boss because of his huge amount of HP. However, should you succeed in beating him, he will reward you with Quina ultimate weapon, the Gastro Fork.

Quale has one of the highest HP stats in the game but it's not really dangerous if you have the right preparations. It casts Poison, Confuse, Blind, Silence and Mini so I would equip support abilities that prevent these status ailments especially Clear headed as well as others like Loudmouth, Antibody, and Bright Eyes. Mini can't be protected against but can be easily reversed with Quina's Angel's Snack.
Do not equip the Return Magic ability since any of Quale's water attacks will heal it if reflected.
Quale has a hard hitting special physical attack, Rolling Attack and also casts Water and Aqua Breath. Therefore any equipment that absorbs or reduces water damage will also be helpful. Quale absorbs Water damage itself so do not cast Reflect otherwise it will also heal Quale.
The battle itself is not too hard. Quale has low defense and magic defense stats, despite its high HP stat so it's just a matter of beating it into submission. There should be no real danger if your party is equipped with the status ailment preventing abilities and equipment outlined above.
Once Quale is defeated, it will reward Quina with the Gastro Fork and then the trophy will pop.

To Obtain The Gastro Fork, First You Must Catch 99 Frogs In The Marsh Minigames.
Since There Are Only About 8 Frogs In A Swamp, And If You Catch Them All They Do Not Come Back, You Must Leave A Male And A Female Frog In Each Marsh.
This Allows Them To Replenish The Population Of Each Marsh, And Makes Catching 99 Frogs Possible.
After You Catch Your Last Frog, There's A Surprise Boss Battle!
- Quina Must Be In The Battle, So Teach Her Good Blue Magic In Advance.
- This Optional Boss Has Literally "The Most HP Of Any Enemy In The Game".
- Boss Level: 76 HP: 65,535 Weak To Thunder: +150% Damage

Defeating This Beastly Boss Concludes Quinas Side Story, Gives You The Legendary Fork, And Nets You This Achievement.

The Gastro Fork is Quina's ultimate weapon and there are two parts to obtaining it. The first part involves catching 99 frogs. See Frog Wrangler for more information on catching 99 frogs. The second part involves defeating Quale when he challenges you to a battle after you have successfully caught 99 frogs.

After completing the "Frog Wrangler" achievement, Quale will challenge you to a battle. Defeat her to obtain this weapon. The fight can be won easily with boosters, or returning after getting to Level 99.
