How to unlock the Bahamutype-0 achievement in FINAL FANTASY VII - Definitive Guide

If you miss informations or if you vote negative pls leave a comment so i can improve the solution

There are exact TWO ways to obtain the Materia.

1. Get the Bahamut Materia in the Temple of the Ancients and get Neo Bahamut in the Whirlwind Maze. BOTH can be missed if not picked up. After both are in your pockets go and save ALL of the 4 huge materias in the side quests for them.

The first Huge Materia is found in North Corel as soon as Cid becomes the party leader. The Huge Materia must be taken from a runaway coal train.

The second Huge Materia is won after the battle minigame in Fort Condor. You dont need to win, simply face the boss. If you lose to the boss Fort Condor is defeated and the Huge Materia is lost.

After these two missions, travel to Mideel, Cloud becomes party leader again and can start the next mission.

The third Huge Materia is found on the Bottom of the Sea near Junon on the sunken red submarine. If you fail to destroy the red submarine in the torpedo minigame, the Huge Materia is lost. But trust me its nearly impossible to lose.

The final Huge Materia must be saved from the Shinra No. 26 rocket while in space by inputting a code. If you fail to guess the code in time, the Huge Materia will be lost.
The code is everytime: cn_B, cn_X, cn_A, cn_A

If you never guess wrong then Cid will comment it with a funny quote.

After obtaining all huge materias and both Bahamut materias inspect the blue huge materia in Cosmo Canin in Bugenhagens room. You here a growl and the Bahamut-0.

2. If you fail to get all 4 huge materias or fail to geht both Bahamut Summons, Bahamut-0 can be digged out in Bone Village late in the game. The chance of digging this out is around 4%.

The original code was Circle Square X, X. The Xbox Code is also B, X ,A, A. Never heard of any issues ever with this code. Maybe you used Tripple Speed. Stop Triple speed and press one button after each other. :-)

Maybe you have changed the buttons? In Original the code was
Circle = [OK], Square = [Switch], X = [Cancel], X = [Cancel]

Have you Tried A, X, B, B?

I got all 4 huge materia but missed the Neo Bahamut materia, been checking around online and it seems that if you got all 4 huge materia but missed one of the Bahamut materias, you can’t dig Bahamut Zero up in bone village.

You CAN dig it out "on Disc 3" very late in the game. But it has around a 4% chance. Keep digging at the marked "Orange" spot up to the point you dig it out. compute

I've read now on multiple sites, Bahamut Zero can ONLY be dug up if you fail at least 1 Huge Materia Mission, and it doesn't matter which one you fail. Note that if you succeed the Submarine mission, but leave the Huge Materia until later then the game still registers that you have completed that mission. It doesn't matter in the slightest whether or not you obtain or miss Bahamut, or Neo Bahamut, all that matters is that you have failed a Huge Materia mission.

I spent roughly 90 minutes digging last night and I didn't get it so I'm starting to think it is a missable achievement. I'll try again today for a couple of hours.

This is not true trust me. I had this in my solution and the Flag Submission team told me thats 100% sure possible to dig this out and also that this is unmissable!

You dig late on disc 3? If you can confirm that this is missable that would be grate and i add this to the solution toast

The only thing I might add is that before going to hunt for the four Huge Materia, you need to go to Mideel and have Tifa leave the party so Cid becomes the leader. I tried to go to North Corel immediately to get the runaway train Huge Materia while Tifa was still my party leader as I did not realize I needed to trigger something in between first.

According to my research, this achievement is missable if you:

Miss Bahamut/Bahamut Neo materia (or both), AND collect all 4 huge materials.

Otherwise you can dig Bahamutype-0 in Bone Village, in Disc 3 (must be in Disc 3, it's a check that the game does), orange spot in Sambaweb's solution.

I can confirm that's missable.
I firstly collected all huge materials, and once on disc 3 I couldn't dig Bahamut-0.
So I reloaded an older save, missed a huge material on pourpose, and once on disc 3 i dug it in no time.

I can confirm this works as well. But it has less than a 3% chance of being dug up. Just keep at it, took me about 2 hours. I took some pics put it on my twitter to show where to dig.

https://twitter.com/TJerikko/status/1369789575317626883?s=19. Exact location of where to did if you miss it on "disk 2". It has 3% chance of being dug up so just keep trying. Took about 2 hours for me, if it takes longer for you consult a doctor.

There are two methods to obtaining the Bahamut ZERO materia. One is fairly easy, but requires getting a bunch of missable items during the game. The other is extremely luck-based, and only works if you missed a Huge materia. As described in the Road Map, go for the missable items and option one. Both methods for this achievement make it missable for different reasons.

1. Collect a total of six materia: Bahamut, Neo Bahamut, and four pieces of Huge materia. All of these locations are mentioned in the Road Map and outlined in the walkthrough. Once you have all six items, head to Cosmo Canyon and speak to Bugenhagen. The four Huge materia will be taken, and then you can head inside to speak with the blue Huge materia and obtain Bahamut ZERO and the achievement. If you miss any one of the six items, this method will not work.

2. This method only works if you miss one of the Huge materia. If you have all four Huge materia, but somehow missed the Bahamut or Neo Bahamut materia, you are now locked out of the achievement for good (neither method described here will work). In this method, you must dig at Bone Village. Again, the Bahamut ZERO materia will ONLY be a valid dig chance if you missed one or more of the Huge materia. It also has a VERY low percentage of being dug up (~3%) so it is again much easier to do option one as described above.

This trophy will be obtained once Cloud obtains the Bahamut ZERO Materia. Although the Bahamut ZERO Materia requires you to to successfully obtain all four Huge Materia, as well as the Bahamut and Neo Bahamut Materias, the trophy is not missable. The Bahamut ZERO Materia can still be excavated from Bone Village in Part 3 if it is missed, although this process is very frustrating because the chances of digging it up are very rare. Thus, it's better to collect the required items on your regular playthrough of the game.

The Bahamut Materias are in the following locations:

  • Bahamut: In the Temple of the Ancients, on the floor after defeating the Red Dragon boss. It is missable.
  • Neo Bahamut: In the Whirlwind Maze, located at the bottom of the North Crater near the beginning of Part 2. It is missable.

The location of the Neo Bahamut Materia in the Whirlwind Maze.

On top of this, all four Huge Materia must successfully be secured and in your party’s possession.

  • North Corel: The party must stop the runaway coal train before it crashes into North Corel. Enter Mt. Corel, and head towards the reactor. After the events, you will be tasked with catching up with a runaway coal train. Alternate between pressing and rapidly to catch up to the train. Board it, and you will have ten minutes to reach the front of the train, with enemies on each of the train’s five cars. Once you have reached the front of the train, press and simultaneously when prompted. After more conversation, press and simultaneously, and finally, and again, and the Huge Materia will be yours. You will also receive the Ultimate Materia from a boy by approaching the middle of town.
  • Fort Condor: Speak to the man at the entrance and agree to help. Enter Fort Condor, and begin the Fort Condor battle minigame by talking to the man on the top floor. You must successfully defend the fort from Shinra in order to receive the Huge Materia. If you want, you can play the battle mini-game normally. However, it is must faster to just press four times and do nothing to fast-forward until the enemy reaches the fort. Once the enemy reaches the fort, you will fight the Grand Horn mini-boss. Defeat it, and you will have successfully defended Fort Condor. Exit the fort and pick up the Phoenix Materia on the floor. Enter the fort and speak to the man at the table to receive the Huge Materia.
  • Junon Underwater Reactor: Reach the end of the reactor and defeat the Carry Armor boss. Do not forget to pick up the Scimitar before entering the submarine. Enter the submarine and begin the submarine torpedo mini-game. Simply drive ahead with to lock on to the red submarine. Once locked on, hit repeatedly to fire torpedoes into its direction. If you lose the red submarine, press to get an overhead view of the bottom of the sea to find it again. After sustaining enough hits, the red submarine will go down. Steer your submarine towards the sunken submarine, enter it, and locate the Huge Materia.
  • Rock Town: Enter Rocket Town and make your way to the base of the rocket. Fight with soldiers and Rude, then climb the ladder up to the rocket. You must input a code in order to stop the rocket from destroying the Huge Materia. The code you must input is . Once you have entered the correct code, you will receive the Huge Materia.

Once you have all four Huge Materia in your possession, return to Cosmo Canyon. Speak to Bugenhagen, and you will lose all your Huge Materia. Following the scenes, enter Bugenhagen’s observatory and interact with the blue Huge Materia. If you successfully collected all four Huge Materia, as well as the Bahamut Materia and Neo Bahamut Materia, you will receive the Bahamut ZERO Materia.

You will receive the Bahamut ZERO Materia by examining the blue Huge Materia.

In Cosmo Canyon, in Bugenhagen's Observatory, obtained from Huge Blue Materia, if you have Bahamut and Neo Bahamut.

Bahamut is given in the story after the battle with Red Dragon.
Neo Bahamut can be found in Whirlwind Maze south of the first save point.

Required: After Cloud disappears, when you fly to North Corel to stop the train with Hugo matter, make a save. Everyone needs to stop the train so that it doesn’t destroy the village, otherwise they won’t give Hugo the blue matter that he needs to create Bahamut-ZERO.

Don't confuse people. Blue big matter in a rocket. Red - in the submarine. Green on the train. Yellow office in the fort.
Even if you didn’t have time to enter the code circle, square, cross, cross on the rocket, then the zero himself will appear in the ground at the excavations a little to the right of the entrance to the “building” on the lower level (in the bone village)... By the way, at the same excavations You can also dig up a W-item BUT only if you missed it in Midgard. And Phoenix, under similar conditions.
